I went into Clair/Prime Honda with a price on a new Honda CRV that was negotiated with their internet sales representative. The moment I sat down with the in house salesman, Ricky, he began to give me reasons why the price was (within 15 minutes of a confirming phonecall with the internet sales person), now $400 more than the original quote. After getting up to leave, he conceded that he could give me the car for the internet negotiated price. We completed paperwork and he told me the car would be in in mid-January. This week I began to call to check on the delivery date. It took 3 phonecalls and a demand to speak with the sales manager before anyone would give me an answer. When I did speak with Vinny the sales manager, he told me my car was not on the inventory list, he insisted that I had just ordered the car in January when in fact it has already been over 3 weeks since I signed the paperwork and then told me that they "only receive 2 of these cars (hard to believe) a month" and that the wait would be "at least another 3-4 weeks". There was no apology, no explanation except "I don't know why Ricky told you it would be in in 3-4 weeks", and I was promptly and unceremoniously handed back my $500 deposit when I told them that this was unacceptable and that I no longer wished to do business with them. I am furious yet relieved. If this is how they treat their customers before the car is delivered, I can only imagine how bad it gets once they receive full payment. More
