This time around, Doc assigned Jim Fry to explain to me the inner workings of the navigation system, Bluetooth phone and Sirius satellite radio my 2011 Jetta SEL came equipped with. Jim was patient and thorough, at a time when both of those qualities were very much needed. Finally, dealership owner Josh Lever was welcoming and cordial, which made me glad I continued my relationship with Platinum, a relationship that began when the dealership was Sovereign VW and was owned by Alice Feldman. I was searching all over for a pre-owned white VW Jetta. I looked at several places and either the car was in bad shape, or the Millage was too high for the price they wanted the car for. Then I decided to try the Platinum Volkswagen dealership just several minutes from where I live. From the moment I walked in, everyone was extremely nice and helpful. They had exactly what I wanted (a 2008 white VW Jetta), pluss much more. Dave, our sales manager showed us exactly what jetta's they had and all the features that came with them. I finally found my white Jetta which also came with leather heated seats, a sunroof, an iPod adapter, and much more fun toys. Dave worked out the price with my parents and it was a bit higher then they wanted to spend but he also threw in an additional 2 year extended bumper-bumper warrantee for practically nothing. Also, the fact that everyone was so helpful and caring made my parents not mind paying a little more. It's like when you go to a nice restraunt you are going to pay more for a better quality rather then friendly's. I have had the car now for 3-4 weeks and I have no complaints. There is a minor scratch on the windsheild, so I called them today and they said to bring it over whenever is convenient for me and they can fix it. My uncle happens to be a well known sales manager at Mazda in Queens and he said he would even recommend Platinum Volkswagen due to their understanding, kindness, and organization. I would deffinately recommend Platinum Volkswagen to anyone interested in buying a Volkswagen!!! More

On January 26th, just before another huge snowstorm was about to hit Long Island, and in the middle of a rainstorm, my windshield wipers stopped working. I called and asked if I could come in on an emerge about to hit Long Island, and in the middle of a rainstorm, my windshield wipers stopped working. I called and asked if I could come in on an emergency basis as my 2009 VW Passat is my only car. I was told to come right in even though it was already 3 p. I was welcomed by John Grossman, a service consultant who reassured me that my problem would be resolved. John also noticed that my inspection was overdue by one month. My wipers began to work as soon as the car was taken into the garage. It would have been very easy for John to have pretended to fix a motor that wasn't damaged. He didn't do this; he simply said, "I can't fix something that's not broken." John was extremely kind and patient with me. I was extremely nervous when I came in and he calmed me down. He even called me on my cell phone when I (in a panic) couldn't find it. I had come in once before to this service center ( it was over a year ago) with a similar emergency: my engine light was on but my temperature gauge was fine. I was going on a trip the next day and was afraid to use the car. John allowed me to come in without an appointment and he looked at my car, topped off the fluids and sent me on my way. I had always gone to the Lynbrook dealership for service but I will change now to Hicksville as I was made to feel so welcome and so comfortable. I do hope you will commend John for a wonderful job. If every auto salesperson treated their customers the way that David and the rest of the staff at Platinum VW treated me, there would be no stereotype about car salesmen! Another dealer farther away offered a price that was, taking into account the distance, roughly equal from my point of view, but Platinum seemed more professional, which is why I bought from them. Since their business costs on Long Island would have been higher than those of the other dealer, they were offering a price with what was probably a slightly lower profit margin for them. The only reason why I rated them a 4 on customer service is that when, after the sale, I asked a different sales person whether the VW automatic-door-lock system could be turned off by the service department, he said it would void the warranty, which is nonsensical (and not true). I went to directly the service department, which did it. More

Rob Sedrish, Finance Manager, put a lease package together that was best for me. I had done much comparison shopping and found Platinum VW to be the most efficient and friendly dealership to work with. I felt no pressure and I had my leased Jetta in less than a day. My old Pontiac Lease Turn-in was also handled by Platinum - so this was one stop shopping. I am most impressed with the dealer and the experience.
