Recent Tiguan Purchase I’ve been leasing VW’s since 2006. I’d originally dealt with smithtown VW, and after my first lease, I’d moved, so platinum was closer to my new addre I’ve been leasing VW’s since 2006. I’d originally dealt with smithtown VW, and after my first lease, I’d moved, so platinum was closer to my new address. When I priced out my second lease, I called smithtown first, and then platinum. Platinum’s pricing was far better than Smithtown, so I started dealing with platinum, and referred family members, who also leased cars from platinum. I recently received notification that my lease was coming due, so I reached out to platinum, which is usually my only phone call. I knew that since my last Tiguan lease the car has changed, and was going to be more expensive, but the price that I was quoted was nearly $110 more per month than my 2017 Tiguan (configured in a similar way to the vehicle I would be trading in). This prompted me to call around to a few other VW dealerships, smithtown being one of them. The price I received from Smithtown was almost $30 cheaper per month. I wanted to do the right thing, so I reached back out to the sales manager, who assure me that almost $380 a month was the best they could do (only putting down first month and DMV), and that the deal i was being offered wouldn’t exist when i went to smithtown and there would be “changes” when i picked up the car at the smithtown dealership, even though i had the whole deal in writing from smithtown. Obviously implying, if not outright saying that Smithtown VW was lying to me. Well, i picked up the car today from smithtown, and not only did they honor the price, but they also threw in a privacy guard for the trunk. There were no hidden fees or surprise charges. Everything went exactly as it was promised by Nicole from Smithtown VW. When my future leases come due, Smithtown VW will be my first call. More
