Still waiting for a General Manager call promised by the sales manager from Porsche Fort Meyers about multiple problems associated with a car displayed on the new car showroom floor. I purchased a 1991 944 sales manager from Porsche Fort Meyers about multiple problems associated with a car displayed on the new car showroom floor. I purchased a 1991 944 S2 Cabriolet on displayed with all the new and slightly used Porsche vehicles on the new car showroom floor. After the car was shipped to me I discovered the exhaust was cracked ($1800 plus labor), the head gasket was leaking oil, the rear differential was leaking fluid ($600) the drivers illuminated door lock was cracked off, ($115) shock tower cap was missing, hood alignment gaskets were missing, needed a new battery day one after delivery (a$400) the car needed a major cut and buff there were so many swirl marks all over the car ($2000) and there was a noise when accelerating in every gear at 2800 rpm. ($652.50). Cracked washer reservoir ($341.82 plus labor) All this was discovered after the car was shipped to me. Before delivery, I had Porsche Fort Meyers maintenance department do a preventative timing belt change service. I have a picture of the car on the lift during the service with the hood opened where a qualified mechanic should have notice all the issues mentioned above. I spoke to my salesman immediately after I started discovering the above issues, he said he would get with the sales manager to "review the deal." I had to keep calling back to speak with the salesman/sales manager where I was basically told "that was an as is sale." I said the car was sold from the new car showroom in a reputable dealership, and the assumption is the car was sorted out before being put on the new car showroom. I was then informed only a required inspection occurred, which was an oil change and minor inspections. I requested a call from the GM and was told I would receive one. To date that has not happened. I have spent thousands of dollars sorting out this car. A 1991 car I paid top dollar for based on the market for this year car. I have owned many Porsches over the years starting with my first a 1990 944 S2 Cabriolet the same color as the one purchased from Porsche Fort Meyers. I own many classic cars and a number of Porsches today. In all the years of acquiring classic cars and Porsches I have never had to put so much of my personal time finding the right vendors to fix all the items on this car, not including the out of pocket costs, which the dealership I trusted should have done before selling this car to an unsuspecting consumer. If this was Joe's used car lot, I would understand, but this is a Porsche factory authorized dealership, and I have purchased many Porsche's and have NEVER had such an disappointing and extra cost experience. Anyone THINKING of purchasing a used Porsche from this dealership, have it thoroughly looked over by an independent Porsche mechanic before releasing your hard earned money to this dealership, or go a little north to Naples Porsche, which I too have purchased cars. The experience is greatly different if you travel a little farther north. More
