Very Professional!!!! 3 Months ago told Service to go through My mothers 97 Volvo with a "fine tooth Comb"Because of the Age I was either going to fix the Car or Buy a new one for her. They comeback with " it needs 2700.00 worth of work, I felt it was high but acceptable. Paid the bill. Less than 2 months later and 100 miles put on the car I am informed that it needs another 1900.00 plus dollars worth of work To get it inspected. I would never Have put 4600.00 into this car. I feel that they were negligent. When I contacted the Manager John Deitz some how he got angry at me and ended up hanging up the phone on me. Very Professional. More
I purchased a used Volvo "on-line" for the first time and initially Cary and then Jason held my hand through the entire process. It took me a while to choose between the two because they really were almost identical and I took both of them out twice for test drives. Ralph was patient and understanding and gave us plenty of time to decide, all the while answering all questions we had. Once we'd decided on the car we really wanted, Ralph zipped us through all the financial formalities (with the amazing help of Jason in finance) and we drove off into the sunset with our new Volvo C70 convertible. It was coming to a point where my husband and I were considering a new vehicle. We were both totally dreading to meet with the stereotypical persona of a sales person. We visited one dealership and had a small part of negotiating with someone who fit the previous sentence to a tee. Disgusted, we left. Reluctantly we resumed our search with the same uneasy feeling. One Sunday we drove to Portland Volvo and saw a couple of vehicles that we were interested in. I drove there again on Monday after work with the thought of possibly taking a test drive. It depended though, I thought, with the pressure related comfort level I felt towards the sales person. I braced myself as I saw a gentleman approach and smile; he introduced himself as Joe Costa and I immediately felt very comfortable. We then test drove two vehicles and I made the purchase the following night. All of our interactions with Joe were extremely comfortable, easy and totally free of any pressure, persistence or nagging questions of what I wanted to spend per month, etc. His sales approach and personality were immediately trustworthy. Joe is a fine gentleman and salesman who totally earned our respect. Thank you ever so much Joe - your business card is right in our wallets to recommend you to hopefully so many others! You're the man! More
I called the dealership passing through on my way home to Boston. There was a used car I was interested in test driving. I had gone to another dealer before and was told the vehicle was there, which turned out to be incorrect and a waste of my time. However.... it turned out the Volvo was an automatic and the Website was wrong in that it stated the car as being a standard! Halie quickly set up a test drive on a new C30 standard. Halie has since followed up with me. I have bought many new automobiles, and had had my share of good and bad experiences. Halie was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and she is definitely a cut above. Should I decide to purchase new, I will go back and work with her. More

My family and I recently moved to the area, I scheduled an appointment with the service department to replace a blown headlight for my S60. Thought I would kill some time and walk the lot. I had no intention to buy, just checking the new models out for fun. For about a year or so my husband and I would casually look at vehicles that we would love to have ,never actually even stopping by car lots, just if we passed one or noticed it parked somewhere we would comment to each other. ......I had found the perfect vehicle, and at a great price! I walked back inside and asked the lovely receptionist if I could test drive it. She then introduced me to Joe Costa to further assist me. Joe was wonderful, answered all of my questions and showed me all the cool options and how to work them. He wasn't obnoxious about it or over selling the car, or using any Stupid sales techniques that we've all heard and feel pressure from. Such a genuine person and very comfortable to be around.. My husband was very impressed with how tentative he was with us and felt whatever our concerns, questions, or requests we had that joe would put our mind at ease, was honest and knowledgable and would go the extra mile to satisfy us!! I went to the dealership to just look around and ended up falling in love with a Volvo S60. Ralph guided me through the process, answering every question I had. I felt like I was his most important customer, he really makes you feel like your business matters! He followed up with an email after I met him and returned any voicemail I left him promptly. I will reccomend Portland Volvo and Ralph D'Angelo to my friends and family - they really make getting a new vehicle easy and stress-free. More
Leased an '09 S80 3 years ago. Wanted to trade in on new XC60. Promised price/trade in info within a day - a week later I had to call back because hadn't heard anything. Even then, I was given inaccurate info about bank buyout options, and then later when I spoke with the sales manager, I was provided lease info on new S80, not XC60 as requested. Is the economy that good that you can blow off good customers who have previously purchased $43K vehicles from you?? Reputaion and word of mouth in this community are currency. Good luck! More
