My Diesel truck failed to start. The service provided involved changing the transfer pump and the injector pump. The cost of this service was 3100.00. On testing the removed transfer pump it was determ involved changing the transfer pump and the injector pump. The cost of this service was 3100.00. On testing the removed transfer pump it was determined to be working, the volumewas apparently a little low but the pump was functional. On questioning the mechanic, it was obvious he did not understand that low volume would not prevent the engine from running. As a result of his lack of understanding he changed the pump, when that failed to resolve the problem he also changed the injector pump. I do not believe he performed appropriate trouble shooting procedures on a 12 year old vehicle, rather, the relied on the displayed codes. I do not believe that adequate investigation was performed to diagnose a possible electrical problem. I also believe that as a tourist from out of state i was taken advantage of. More
