Ugly Experience I was happy with the service check in, Michael is always super easy to interact with and makes everything so smooth and simple. However, this time I I was happy with the service check in, Michael is always super easy to interact with and makes everything so smooth and simple. However, this time I asked how much it would cost to have a hitch installed on my vehicle. Michael simply said he wasn't sure and walked with me to parts department to help me get my answer, which was great, what wasn't so great was the fact that I had to explain to 2 different people why I wanted it and what I was trying to tow before anyone would attempt to help me. I never asked IF I should, or what they thought. I already know my car is capable, but because I was a woman asking them a simple question that had a very simple answer, I first had to explain myself. Once I did, to 2 different men, I finally got a ballpark quote of 2 thousand dollars, at which point they proceeded to tell me it really wouldn't be worth it to spend the money. My second question at that point was "what is the towing capacity", the guy helping me at this point told me (without looking it up) that at most I could hall 1, MAYBE 2 kayaks but no more than that. I assume because when I had to explain why I wanted a hitch I stated it was because I want to pull a trailer for paddle boards and kayaks. I asked again, what is the towing capacity, he then said "not much", so it wasn't until I asked a 3rd time that he looked in the computer to give me my answer of 2k pounds, which is far more than 2 kayaks. There is nothing more infuriating than taking your car to be serviced, and being treated like a stupid woman. If I had asked their opinion on what they thought, I would have been swayed not to get something that my car is more than capable of pulling. And should I desire to spend whatever it would take to get a hitch in, 2 thousand dollars or 10 thousand dollars, I don't think it is anyone's business but mine as to why I want it or if I need it. If it is a service that is provided by the service department, and it is physically capable of being installed on my car, I should NOT have to explain why I want it. This is my first experience of being treated this way at the dealer that I bought my brand new car at, if this happens again, it will be my last time visiting. More
