Brought my car in for warranty repair. After it was done, a loud screeching and scraping noise emanated from the front, where repair had been. My own mechanic told me that sound was probably from a shield to a loud screeching and scraping noise emanated from the front, where repair had been. My own mechanic told me that sound was probably from a shield touching the rotor. Pride Hyundai said it was safe to drive it back there to them to be fixed, which I did. Because I had to drive 45 min to get there and wait to have an incomplete repair corrected, I requested a complementary oil change. First, let me say that this was not the first time I have been inconvenienced by this service department. My previous warranty repair required 5 return visits in order for them to get it right. That’s right: FIVE! So I thought they should have no problem granting me the oil change. WRONG. Wendell, service manager, told me he couldn’t do that. I asked why. He said he didn’t have the authority. I asked who did. Finally, he told me it was the dealership manager. I was brought to see said manager a bit later and was given a complete runaround and nothing but defensiveness and lies. And was denied the free oil change. They tried telling me that it was not their incomplete repair that caused the wheel noise, but that it was from when my regular mechanic replaced my front brakes. There were several facts that proved this was a ridiculous assumption and I told them I was not buying their lame attempt to squirm out of their responsibility. This service department has been nothing but a pain since I got my car there. I regret getting it at this dealership and do not recommend them to anyone. I am going to insist that the warranty company cover any future repairs to be done at an honest, COMPETENT facility. If you value your time and do not want aggravation, DO NOT GO HERE!! More
