We came in looking for a car. We left having been deliberately misled and charged thousands more than we were told we would pay. Our salesperson Mike Mayberry spent an hour making trips to the back room to consult with management, ultimately returning with a monthly payment figure. When I pushed for the actual sales price, he looked me in the eye and confirmed '$42,000.00 and some change.' The price never moved. Not once. Those trips to the back room were not negotiations — they were a performance. While we waited, I stepped outside briefly to grab food for our hungry children. In that window, Mike walked my wife directly to the finance office. He then found me inside and steered me toward the service area, telling me there was something I would 'really like' to see. She signed the financing documents alone. That was not a coincidence — it was a calculation. They knew that once the contract was signed, our options would be limited. The worksheet they have used as evidence that we got what we expected doesn't even match the final contract — the trade-in value differs and a $1,495 charge appears on the worksheet but not in the contract. None of their explanations are plausible. We fought back for months. Through the dealership, through Hendrick corporate, through the NC Attorney General, through the BBB. Their legal counsel's response to our detailed written complaint was: 'Then we are done here. Good Bye.' Nobody has taken responsibility. Nobody has made it right. Reggie Jackson earned his legendary reputation through integrity and hard work. He deserves better than to have his name on this place.
