Despite Ford Motor Company warning dealerships to stop adding expensive surcharges above the MSRP of the vehicle (Wall Street Journal, 2/9/22), Rich Ford has continued to aggressively add several tho stop adding expensive surcharges above the MSRP of the vehicle (Wall Street Journal, 2/9/22), Rich Ford has continued to aggressively add several thousand dollars to the window sticker price (MSRP) on new vehicles. Despite having purchased 2 vehicles this year from Rich Ford, we recently looked to trade one of the vehicles for a different car, and we were "rewarded" with 2 surcharges above the MSRP when we were initially presented with the offer from the dealership: 1) a $5000 dealer fee, and 2) an additional $2500 salesperson fee. Yes, a total of $7500 added to the price Rich Ford asked for the vehicle. When we objected to the absurd surcharges, they did come back and offer to drop the $5000 charge, which still would have resulted in selling the vehicle $2500 above the MSRP. If you decide to shop at Rich Ford, please be prepared to be gouged when you receive their price offer. You might want to try and find a different Ford dealer who is adhering to Ford Motor Company guidelines. We went to another dealer (Larry Miller) and bought a similar vehicle with no hassle and no attempt to add a surcharge. We will also be reporting the incident to Ford Corporate directly. More
The service was much better this time. It's much better now than 5 or 6 years ago. James took a lot of extra time to discuss my concerns. Looks like there is a bait and switch going on here. Just like some of the other reviews, my sister went in to buy a vehicle. Completed all the paperwork, on Tuesday, and was told they couldn't take the check until Black Friday. When they went back, they had "sold the vehicle earlier in the morning". Then the salesmen lied through his teeth on why they sold it to someone else. My sister lives in out of town and returned home without a vehicle. The salesman tried to sell her pieces of crap to make up for selling the vehicle out from under her. What a lame company! Stay away! More
Went to Rich Ford a couple weeks ago looking for a used truck. Looked around at their inventory, even went in the bullpen to see the trucks that hadn’t been inspected yet and weren’t on sale. Salesperson s truck. Looked around at their inventory, even went in the bullpen to see the trucks that hadn’t been inspected yet and weren’t on sale. Salesperson showed us a nice clean truck and we expressed our interest in it. He told us that it would be apart of their Black Friday sale and that the event would start at 6:30 so we should be there at 6 to be early in line. Got there a little before 6 on Black Friday and were waiting outside when one of the employees told us that she would get a salesperson out to us. We asked her if the guy we talked to previously would be able to help us and she said she would call him (he wasn’t there yet). Waited around a while longer and didn’t want to miss out on the truck we wanted, so asked if another salesperson could help us. We were then informed that they didn’t open until 7, so we would have to wait until then. Waited around a while longer, when the woman that told us she would get us a salesperson walked by. We told her that we didn’t want to wait for our original salesperson anymore because we wanted to get the truck before someone else could. She asked us which truck we were interested in, and when we told her, she informed us that the truck had “just now” been sold. We asked her about the one next to it which had also “just now” been sold. All of the people that were there while we were had been looking at other vehicles. In addition, if they didn’t open until 7, how could the trucks already have been sold? It’s quite obvious that certain vehicles had been reserved for friends or family before people even had the chance to look at them. Later on in the day, while listening to the radio at work, heard a live interview, during which they were advertising the same truck I had tried to buy earlier that morning. If the truck was already sold, why would they be advertising it on the radio? So, preferential treatment AND bait and switch marketing tactics? Seems like some pretty shady business practices going on over at Rich Ford… More
