First off I went there one day browseing the lot because I was looking to trade in my truck for something bigger. Walked around for 10 to 15 mins before leaving because no one came up to me. All other dealerships I’ve visited I’ve had someone come up to me within minutes. Second issue was that it took 2 hours for an oil change 2 of the 3 times I was there for service. Probably won’t be going back. More
Very poor service follow up review. To follow up with my previous service review/experience at Glen's Falls Toyota. I was contacted by Jim the service manager who wanted me to give him a second chance. Mind you I already had lost complete trust because of how he lied to me, did not fix the issue and tried to get me to buy parts suggesting that the shop I originally took it to had never replaced. I had personally replaced the parts in question myself but because it wasn't noted on the intake sheet he tried to sell me new parts saying that they looked old. Anyhow... Another lie has reared it's ugly head. I had suggested many things to test to find out why it was randomly misfiring. One of which was to test the fuel injectors. He said that he did check them and they appeared to be functioning properly. Well guess what? All it took was a proper fuel injector cleaning and now they ARE working properly. So.... G F Toyota did change one of the coils that I had just replaced unnecessarily, did not fix the problem and charged me just shy of $600.00 for it. I tell you all something about the Glens Falls Toyota Service department. The service manager Jim will lie to your face, when questioned he tries to get you off subject and talks about other things and skirts the problem. Like I said in my previous post, I will be following this up through small claims unless they are willing to reimburse me for the $600.00 they took for services that were never received. STAY AWAY FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT! I know if I owned this dealership I would NOT allow this behavior or have employees who think this is how to conduct this kind of business that gives my dealership such a bad name. I did end up taking it to New Country Toyota where the service department was extremely responsive, kept me updated, told me everything that was wrong with the car and suggested the best economical way to fix everything. If you can get your vehicle to New Country Toyota then I strongly suggest you do. The level of communication and treatment of the customers is amazing. More
Extremely bad experience with service. I'm the kind of guy who gives credit when credit is due and if I've been wrongly treated I will make sure everyone I know hears about that as well. No I'm the kind of guy who gives credit when credit is due and if I've been wrongly treated I will make sure everyone I know hears about that as well. Now; back in 2007 my wife wanted the new Fj Cruiser. I explained as cool as they are we need to wait a year and let Toyota fix any bugs etc.. About a year goes buy and we went to Glens Falls Toyota to buy one. They are just across town so we were going to buy local, get it serviced local, etc.. We walked around the lot and showroom looking at a couple of Fj's. I guess because I was still in my work clothes I didn't appear to be of stature enough to purchase such a nice vehicle. Not ONE salesperson got up or stopped talking to each other to ask if we needed help. Having been so disrespected I told the wife that we will try to never do business with these people again. We went to New Country Toyota just over a half hour away and I bought a loaded Fj Cruiser for just over $30,000 that night! STRIKE ONE G. F. Toyota! That whole scenario I kept repressed until now. Now I do ALL my business with New Country Toyota. Well the inevitable happens.... The end of February this year my 2008 Avalon starts misfiring. I put my computer on it and it reads multiple random misfires on almost every cylinder. I then purchased all 6 coils and new spark plugs. I spent the next two days replacing everything. What a labor intensive job! I got it all buttoned up and about a month goes buy. All is well until I had to really accelerate to avoid a collision. As I demanded more power to complete my passing of a car because a truck pulled out who obviously didn't see me passing and was headed right for me head on; the car misfires, shutters and I lose power which in turn have to slam on my brakes and get behind the slow moving car I attempted to pass. I limp it home shuddering and misfiring from my very near head on collision and put my computer on it. Random misfire cylinder 1 and 3. These are on the back side of the engine and I'm not doing that job again. I make an appointment with G. F. Toyota only because I really don't think it's even going to make it there let alone to New Country Toyota in Saratoga 30 minuets away. I got it there on March 28. I told the receptionist what was going on with it and she noted as follows "Customer states CEL - Random misfire codes stored, customer replaced all the ignition coils and the problem still exists." Here is their answer. Failure coil cylinder 1. Check injectors and spark plug. OK. Do compression test. GOOD. Clear codes and road test. GOOD. Now.... When I dropped it off I heard nothing from them for the next two days. I was at work and could not call. I called several times on Saturday and repeatedly was sent to voicemail. It was almost time for service to close so I called again and followed the prompts to sales where someone picked up. I explained that I was trying to get my vehicle back if it was ready and nobody answers in service. He went back there and told her to pick up at which time she did. Then she told me Jim (the service manager) needed to talk to me to decide what I wanted them to do with it. I was like WHAT?! I was certain that I was crystal clear what I wanted them to do when I dropped it off and I told her what I knew was wrong, what I've done so far and "I don't care what it costs, just fix it; it's only an expensive lawn ornament the way it is so just fix it.". So onto day 5 of my car being there. I called and talked to Jim. I explained everything to him, suggest testing the fuel injectors or possibly being a timing issue. He says "We'll get it done today or tomorrow.". The next day Jim calls me and he tells me that all the coils and plugs aren't new. He then suggests that I replace them all. I asked him what makes him say that and he replied they looked older and should all be replaced. He further makes comment about taking it to other shops. I replied with "Really? I know for an absolute fact that every sparkplug and coil is new in that car." he said "How can I be so sure?" I told him " BECAUSE I CHANGED EVERY ONE MYSELF!" I then get a we'll get it done this afternoon or tomorrow. (again) Day 7 I get a call it all set and ready to go. I go over paid $594.78. I knew it was going to be expensive but now it's fixed. WRONG!... It still misfires under acceleration. I bring it back the next day and explain everything again; this time directly to Jim. He then says, and I swear on a stack of bibles this is the truth; "Did you ever consider that you may have to live with it?". I was immediately enraged and wanted to choke every ounce of life out of that man! I said let me tell you what happened. I then explained how this initially happened and how I was very close to a head on collision. Jim had the audacity to tell me what roads in the area I need to stay off of so that wouldn't happen again. I don't know what planet he is from but here on earth if we pay for a service we expect to get it; not a song and dance to skirt the real issue. Now I have to get it to New Country Toyota to get it fixed properly. If Glens Falls Toyota doesn't feel they are wrong and refund the $594.78 and the "live with it" advice I'm positive small claims court will. I will NEVER go to Glens Falls Toyota for anything no matter how simple. By the way... The intake wasn't tightened and came loose. I had to finish putting it back together. More

When the sym I recently took my vehicle in because the car was having difficulty shifting/idling. The first time I was in they adjusted the throttle. When the symptoms continued I took the vehicle back and they claimed to have checked the transmission for leaks as part of investigating trouble. They found the vehicle was 3 quarts low on fluid but could not identify a leak. Within 2 weeks I again was experiencing the same symptoms with the car and made an appointment at a local transmission shop. The shop called within minutes of looking at the car saying the leak was found; both hoses connected to the transmission were rotted and leaking. They were shocked that the dealer service department did not identify especially when the transmission shop went to the dealership to pick up replacement hoses. I have been to the dealership several times in the past but generally only for recalls; my experience with the service department is they are difficult to deal with and are short with customers with questions. I have avoided the service department b/c they provide below average service and unfortunately went in for my most recent needs and they could not find and fix the problem. I would not buy a vehicle there and will not be back for any service needs More
