I had a very positive experience at Meadowlands Nissan. I had looked at their online inventory (which was accurate as opposed to some other dealerships) prior to going to the dealership and I knew exactly I had looked at their online inventory (which was accurate as opposed to some other dealerships) prior to going to the dealership and I knew exactly which car I was interested in. Upon meeting Julian Salazar, he was very receptive to my inquiry, taking into consideration the time constraints I was under. The negotiation process was very simple and straight-forward and I didn't feel pressured at all. I was grateful for the efficient manner in which Julian, Gloria and the other staff members processed the deal which allowed me to drive the car home the same day. Having had our previous car totaled due to Hurricane Sandy we were anxious to get a new car and I couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one I had at Meadowlands Nissan. More

Michael made my experience at Nissan Meadowlands so great that I'd probably never visit another Nissan dealer again. He was very helpful and friendly which made me feel comfortable and confident about my pur that I'd probably never visit another Nissan dealer again. He was very helpful and friendly which made me feel comfortable and confident about my purchase. He made sure my Rogue had all the "extras" I desired at a reasonable price. Michael made an effort to follow up with me days after the purchase which I deeply appreciated. I would highly recommend this dealer. Thanks Mike, love my car!!! More
I, like many of you that may be reading this, basically took a 'tour' of all of the dealerships on Route 46 (Clifton to Fairfield), Route 17 (Meadowlands and about 30 minutes north on 17 from the Meadowlan took a 'tour' of all of the dealerships on Route 46 (Clifton to Fairfield), Route 17 (Meadowlands and about 30 minutes north on 17 from the Meadowlands) and Route 22 (Hillside to Springfield). I HATE high pressure sales. I've previously been in sales (not car sales though) and I can't stand the question "So why are you buying with us today?" because it's a sales tactic, and many weaker-willed individuals can be sucked into a car they may not want. Good news; I didn't find these high pressure sales tactics at Meadowlands with Nelson. On the first day I stopped by, I told Nelson I wasn't buying that day. He told me he'd happily answer any questions, show me any cars, and just help me when I am ready. That's exactly what he did. I took my car for a test drive on my first visit (a Saturday I believe). I came back on Tuesday, and called ahead of time to make sure the car was still there. Nelson came in on his day off to be there when I came by for the final test drive. The only part of the experience I didn't like, was when there was another couple attempting to buy the car when I arrived (but failed to find a financial approval/credit). Once they declined, another manager came over to me (Nelson's manager/boss from my initial impression) and this is the only part of my experience I didn't like - he was definitely slightly 'pushy' in a sense. He said, "We can get all of your paperwork signed and everything wrapped up in 20 minutes." Meaning, he was already assuming we were going to buy the car and yet I had been very clear that I wanted to test drive the car one more time. All in all, it's possible it could have been a 'tactic' to make us sit and wait while another couple was 'attempting to purchase the car' but there is no way for me to know. Just be aware of it, and if you have the same experience you can deduce that's it's likely a sales tactic. But in all fairness, I couldn't tell and the rest of my entire experience was fantastic. (The paperwork and processing took 2 hours which was painful, but I think that's the norm at dealerships...) I drove the car a second time, and came back ready to purchase. And it' important to mention that they didn't change their story on the pricing and value for my trade in, even after the whole thing with another 'couple' that was trying to purchase the vehicle. The car needed a few things and I knew I couldn't drive it off the lot with the two things I needed: there was a very faint smoke smell I wanted removed, and I needed a small 'panel' piece for the front bumper that was about 1" x 1" and covers a tow hitch hidden on the front of the car. I am VERY pleased to report that not only did Nelson proactively stay in touch with me to get these things taken care of, he even took care of getting the driver and passenger window tint removed for me (which was not part of my original request - it was something additional I asked for). I would definitely recommend giving these guys a chance. Ask for Nelson, he was not pressuring me at all and he was highly proactive in helping me with ANYTHING post-sale. He earned my business. Also, just some helpful info for you - check out the dealerships on DealerRater but also look at their Better Business Bureau rating. You will find the dealerships that try to do the right thing, like Meadowlands Nissan, may have BBB complaints but because they try to resolve and respond to them, they still have a great rating. You will also find other dealerships that are trying to hide bad reputations by getting good DealerRater reviews but when you view their BBB ratings, they may have an 'F' because they aren't responding to customer complaints and trying to resolve things. I found one with 29 unresponded BBB complaints!!!!!! Unbelievable that they wouldn't even try to resolve things with those customers. Every company will have some people complain, that's normal. But any GOOD company will at least make an attempt at resolving things to try and see if they can reach a fair compromise with a reasonable customer. I think Meadowlands Nissan is a great place to buy a car and that they try and do the right thing - at least that was my personal experience with Nelson. Thanks Nelson! More
