While getting out of my Honda Civic Sport for a barber appointment, I noticed that the black rubber seal along the bottom of the driver door had come off and was hanging loose. Rather than have it draggin appointment, I noticed that the black rubber seal along the bottom of the driver door had come off and was hanging loose. Rather than have it dragging along when I drove, I just cut it off and made an appointment at Doggett Honda to get the door seal replaced. They said it would be a labor-intensive job because the door panel would have to be removed, and the cost was a little over $474. I drove out believing the job to have been done, but while later opening the car door and looking down to check my parking space alignment, I noticed that the seal had not been replaced. I went back, thinking perhaps there had been a mix-up in which the job had been chalked up as having been done when in fact it hadn’t. Well, it turns out that they had replaced another door seal which also ran around the door. But here’s the kicker: on the bottom of the door, both seals run side-by-side, just a couple of inches apart. The stretch of missing seal was literally right under their noses; there was no way they could have missed it. Yet no one checked to see if I wanted to have that taken care of as well or to ask if that had been the original problem all along. They agreed to replace the damaged seal free of labor if I paid $70 for the part itself. After they were finished, I looked down and saw black rubber seal where there had been none before, and I thought the seal had been replaced. But later on, I took a closer look, and I discovered that the whole seal had not been replaced. They had simply cut a piece of seal long enough to cover the bare spot, leaving the rest of the old seal in place; you could see where the section of replacement seal was butted up to where I had made the cut in the old seal. Now, Jan 2026, The paint is coming off again and Honda will do nothing. I'm done with Honda. I have bought 8 previously, but I'm done. (It was Russell Smith at the time.} More
Complaint Regarding Vehicle Purchase – Russell & Smith Honda, Houston, TX I am retired and on Social Security Disability. I purchased a 2026 Honda CR-V with a sticker price of $32,315. I was told I cou Honda, Houston, TX I am retired and on Social Security Disability. I purchased a 2026 Honda CR-V with a sticker price of $32,315. I was told I could only receive the 2.99% APR if I purchased two warranties: GAP coverage and a maintenance plan to 60,000 miles. On my contract, it shows the following: - Debt Cancellation Agreement – $1,500 - Honda Care Contract – $1,500 - GAP Insurance – marked “Not Applicable” - No extended warranty is listed What I actually received was different: - No Debt Cancellation coverage - No Honda Care contract - GAP Insurance – $1,500, only for 48 months (loan is 60 months) - Extended Warranty – $4,342, for 60 months/50,000 miles (not itemized anywhere in my contract) For comparison: - On my previous new automobile purchase (a 2026 Subaru Forester, less than a year earlier), I put $6,000 down, had a 4.99% APR, and financed $26,428. - On this purchase (the Honda CR-V), I put $7,000 down, financed $41,774 at 2.99% APR— bringing the cost close to $50,000, far above the $32,315 sticker price. In addition, I did not receive several standard documents, including: - Bill of Sale - Odometer Disclosure - Application for Texas Title - Temporary Buyer’s Tag Receipt - Title Application The day after purchase, I returned to the dealership to question the discrepancies. I was told they were too busy to meet with me. I returned again the following day and waited over four hours but was never helped. I have since sent certified letters to the General Manager at Russell & Smith Honda, the Texas Attorney General’s Office, Honda Automobile Customer Service, and the Better Business Bureau, but I have not received resolution. I am waiting for a response.
