I purchased a 2012 Dodge Avenger in August 2013 and the heat either never worked or stopped working so the warranty that we were encouraged to purchase does not cover the repair of the heater coil or the 2 heat either never worked or stopped working so the warranty that we were encouraged to purchase does not cover the repair of the heater coil or the 2 thermostats. This is basically a new car that at this point has not heat....this is ridiculous and all you can say is sorry. Well I won't be buying another car from this dealership. There is not way that this should be a repair that we have to pay for. We have owned this car for 7 months...sounds like a factory problem or maybe someone could tell me what certified means. Bad bad bad!!! More
I would like to say that your team is tenacious, and thorough because my vehicle's issue was not easily duplicated, and the problem was hard to detect; the technician did not give up, and through time a thorough because my vehicle's issue was not easily duplicated, and the problem was hard to detect; the technician did not give up, and through time and an elimination process, they found the probable issue -ordered parts and had my vehicle up and running without anymore problems. Jennifer was great, she keep me up-to-date on my vehicle's progress, and had my vehicle cleaned up to the point where it looked like it was new. Everything was tight, my vehicle now drives alot better. Sincere thank you to your team for a tremendous job! More

He is friendly and if obtaining the vehicle can be done, he is dedicated to ensuring just that. We also had the pleasure of working with Chad Bishop who is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He was both kind and patient with us. He took great care of us! :) More

My daughter tried to buy a new vehicle and turn in her lease vehicle. The Sales Person (Dan) was caught in a lie several times and kept playing the back and forth game with the Sales Manager (Joan). We tr lease vehicle. The Sales Person (Dan) was caught in a lie several times and kept playing the back and forth game with the Sales Manager (Joan). We tried to get to a price and they would not discuss any type of deal on the price. Joan was extremely rude with us. Joan accused us of beating up on her sales person (Dan) with our questions and trying to get to a fair price. We have been in the Dealership numerous times with our vehicles and have had excellent service. I guess the staff changes their tune when it comes to selling a new vehicle which is take it or leave it because we are only in it for the money and don't care about you the customer. So today Safford Jeep/Dodge lost two customers today and we will find another dealership to turn our leases into and look to purchase new vehicles with them. As retired military, I have never been treated so poorly by a dealership in all my years of buying or leasing vehicles. More
My fiance and I, returning costumers, were interested in the 2014 Jeep grand cherokee. We took the vehicle home for the night to make sure it was something we wanted. The retail on the car 35,190. The only the 2014 Jeep grand cherokee. We took the vehicle home for the night to make sure it was something we wanted. The retail on the car 35,190. The only rebate that Jeep was offering was 500$ for a military bonus. The total with tax and everything came to about 36000. They were charging me 995$ for a destination fee, when the car was already on the lot, a 489$ processing fee, 100 for THEIR business license fee. Also on top of that they still wanted me to pay the taxes, title fees, and tags. We returned the next day and offered 33000 for the vehicle including taxes, tags, and titles. The management claimed that there was no negotiating room what so ever. They claimed the first price they gave us was the lowest amount they could go. My fiance and I were willing to negotiate between our two numbers but they flat out just said no. They did not counter our offer. We then went inside giving them to benefit of the doubt thinking that the manager would come down at least another 500$. As we walked up to the building( all of this occured outside) our sales rep was a few paces ahead of us. We noticed he made a remark to the other employees standing at the entrance. We then received dirty looks as we walked through the door. We got to the desk assigned to us and decided we wanted to stay standing as oppose to sitting down. As we were waiting for the manager and sales rep to come over, we continued to receive dirty looks from across the room. The manager then makes her way over, shakes our hand and motions for us to sit down. I declined and said that we would rather stand and that we were looking to make the conversation a short one. She then proceeded to call me "mean" and say that we were treating her sales rep poorly. She then referred to my father and mother, whom were using hands motions while they spoke. She called it "flailing their arms and yelling at the sale rep" Who doesn't move their hands or arms when speaking? My fiance then made the comment that we weren't there to make friends. Joan Bayes remark was, with an attitude, "well then i guess we're not trying to be your friend either". Coming from a manager or anyone for that matter, that was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. She then continued on her rant about not changing the price and walked away to gather papers we had no interest in seeing for the 5th time. We decided at that point to exit the building. The sales rep followed us out because we had personal belongings in their vehicle. After retrieving those the manager was back outside with the papers. I then mentioned we weren't interested in hearing what they had to say anymore and that if they could meet us close to our number we offered they were more than welcome to give us a call. Joan Bayes then blurted out that the only thing they could do was give us 1300$ off. By the way, that 1300$ refers to the amount they promised me to use to pay of the rest of my lease payments. So she wanted me to pay the 1300$ off and she would give me 1300$ for the new one. Either way you look at..... I'm not getting anything extra off. She just moved numbers around. I then said " even if I wait until July, when my lease is up, and continue to make the payments myself, and I came back to purchase this vehicle, I guarantee you would still only give me the military bonus off(500$ that i had to ask for), I wouldn't be offered the 1300$" She then said" DON'T TELL ME WHAT I WOULD DO, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO",in an extremely high tone might I add. She also said that her price would be no different then say the Safford of Richmond dealership. After her final rude remark she just walked away. So we made it a point to the sales rep that they not only lost me and my fiance as costumers, but my entire family, who happen to be jeep enthusiast's. I left the dealership today in tears from the stress of belittlement that i went through with Joan Bayes. She's not a sales associate. She's the new car "manager". I recommend to anyone that is interested in a jeep, chrysler, or dodge to drive the extra miles to the King George or Richmond dealership and skip all the drama and rip offs that come with the Safford of Fredericksburg facility. I am extremely dissapointed in the manner of which my family was treated today and I will never return as a costumer. I was lied to, belittled, and almost ripped off. More

I had been searching online and at Car Max for new or used SUV for a about a month with no real success. My family had bought several vehicles from Safford in the past, so I decided to check them out. U used SUV for a about a month with no real success. My family had bought several vehicles from Safford in the past, so I decided to check them out. Upon entering the showroom, I was introduced to Dario who surprisingly did not try to sell me on something but actually listened and responded to my interests. He quickly found a great price on a sweet looking 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was at a different location but arranged it to be transferred for a prompt test drive. As promised, he called the day before to confirm the test drive and once again greeted me at the door with the vehicle already to go. Everything was as advertised and I was ready to buy. Dario and Jeff made every attempt to work with my trade in and we settled on a fair price. The finance department was excellent and Chad couldn't have been more helpful. Overall, my experience was excellent. I now understand why my family has been repeat customers. Keep up the good work! More
Shopping for a car can be a exhausting experience. Not all dealerships are the same and the knowledge of the salesmen are usually very limited. One of the dealerships I visited gave me a price less the d all dealerships are the same and the knowledge of the salesmen are usually very limited. One of the dealerships I visited gave me a price less the destination charges, that's confusing. Destination fees is a standard non negotiable price that is part of the MSRP. When you low ball your price to get the customer in the door, then add it back to the deal, that equals deceptive practices. Also, if you don't know the answer to a customer's question, don't give a false answer. Ignorance is no excuse for lying to the customer. My experience with Stafford Dodge of Fredericksburg was painless and efficient. Contrary to the car buying experience I am not looking for a new friend or a relationship with my salesman. It takes hours to complete a transaction smoothly. I passed several dodge dealerships in my quest for a new car. I must have talked to 8 dealerships and countless salesman on the telephone. Stafford of Fredericksburg gave me a price on the phone and an acceptable range for my trade, sight unseen. Once at the dealership, I was able to negotiate the deal and finalize the sale. I was extremely pleased on every aspect of the transaction, Chrysler are you listening? More
