Took 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan in for cutting off while I was driving. I originally took it to a Toyota dealer since there wasn't a Dodge dealer close by and I was leaving for a job related trip the next da was driving. I originally took it to a Toyota dealer since there wasn't a Dodge dealer close by and I was leaving for a job related trip the next day. They ran diagnostics and changed the PCM and Cam sensor, then said that was as far as they could go since they didn't have wiring manuals. It was there for 2 weeks and the service department picked up the tab for my rental car for the week after I came home from my business trip! I had the van towed to Safford Dodge in Fredericksburg. They ran diagnostics and changed PCM again. I told them I would pay for the core charge because I needed the PCM back so I could return it to Toyota because it was under warranty. Well, that didn't happen. I went in late in the day and paid for the "repair" , but the core charge had been taken off and I had no PCM to turn in to Toyota. I said would get back to them about getting the PCM back in the morning since no service department personnel were there. Drove it for a mile and it died again. Took it back and after a crank sensor change (and another diagnostic fee) I was called again that it was ready for pick-up. It wouldn't even start when I got there! They looked at it again and said it was the PCM wire harness and wanted another $500 to troubleshoot the harness. Talked to co-owner and got some resolve, but not enough. They found the wire and fixed it and I also got the cost of the original PCM back. I went to go pick it up and my left fender well cover was still in the back of my van. I paid about $1075 the first visit for diagnostics and PCM. I paid about $150 for the crank shaft sensor visit. Then they wanted to charge me the $500 to cut open the harness and check that out. So if they would have really troubleshot the van and not shotgunned parts at it, they would have found that it wasn't the PCM or the sensor. Probably could have saved me about $750. Of course they refunded the Toyota PCM cost...The one they got was more expensive. Once the car died my wife and I were thinking about a new car. This service department is why we bought a Honda! I came to Safford Dodge looking specifically for a 2012 Dodge Charger after reading all of the reviews online for it. Chris Glitzos had helped a friend buy a Dodge Avenger in the past, so I knew I could co Dodge Charger after reading all of the reviews online for it. Chris Glitzos had helped a friend buy a Dodge Avenger in the past, so I knew I could count on him to help me out as well. I told Chris what I was looking for, and he was able to find the car I wanted on the lot with more options that I had anticipated. Chris was very knowledgable about the Charger and all of its options. In short I was able to drive away with the car I wanted, at an affordable price, and very happy with what I bought. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a new vehicle to see Chris, and to buy from Safford Dodge. More
My husband and I decided to start the process of looking for a new SUV. We had made up a list of possible SUV models we wanted to see and drive. However, Safford of Fredericksburg dealership was the first a for a new SUV. We had made up a list of possible SUV models we wanted to see and drive. However, Safford of Fredericksburg dealership was the first and only one we visited because of its employee. On our arrival, we were immediately greeted by a representative and subsequently introduced to Chris Glitzos. We explained to him that we were just beginning the “adventure” of buying a new car. Ken and I had made up our “wish list” of what we thought we needed as well as the “bells and whistles” we wanted. In addition, we had researched the various models and manufacturers utilizing on-line sources the included Consumer Reports, Edmonds, etc. and had decided that a 2012 would be fine with us. Chris patiently listened to us and based upon our preferences, he reviewed the on-site Safford inventory, and identified a potential SUV for us to look at and test drive. While it was not the exact SUV model we were interested in, it gave us a very good idea of the size (my husband is 6’2” tall and needs extra room for his legs), ride, and quality of the vehicle. After determining that the Dodge Durango was something we would definitely consider, Chris again searched the Safford inventory and identified a Citadel model with all the accessories we wanted at another location. We then discussed price. After the usual back and forth negotiation with an unseen Manger, we finally were able to come to an agreed upon price. Chris informed us as it was late on Saturday and that the Fredericksburg dealership would not be open on Sunday, Monday afternoon would be the first time that we would be able to see the car. We agreed that before purchasing, we wanted to inspect the car. Chris made arrangements for the car to be delivered. Monday, he called us early to let us know when the Durango would be in Fredericksburg and we could see it. When a transportation delay occurred due to a traffic issue, he again called up and to keep us informed of progress and revised the meeting time. Needless to say, we purchased the Durango and could not be more pleased. Not only is it everything we were looking for, it has more bells and whistles that we thought possible, some of which we are still discovering. While the Durango was the primary car we were interested in, Chris was the reason we purchased it. He through knowledge of the vehicle, his thoughtful consideration of our wants and our time was instrumental in our final decision. Neither my husband nor I have ever dealt with a “Car Salesman” of his caliper. I personally was sold on Saturn’s (bought 2-still heartbroken they pulled the model), not only due to their price, quality and service, but especially the no-haggle sales process. Chris Glitzos is an excellent representative for Safford of Fredericksburg. If you are looking for a great SUV and an exceptional car-buying experience, please put them on your must visit list. As I wrote in the beginning, Safford of Fredericksburg was the first and only auto dealership we needed and we will definitely be going back for future cars. Ken and Linda Copeland More
