Salinas Honda Gastonia

I have purchased or leased 4 Honda's since 2003. The last 2 were from McKenney Salinas Honda (MSH) in Gastonia. There are closer Honda dealers to where I live and work but for a buying experience, MSH last 2 were from McKenney Salinas Honda (MSH) in Gastonia. There are closer Honda dealers to where I live and work but for a buying experience, MSH is the ONLY one that has performed as requested. I own a home building business and have despised the buying/selling process of automobiles since I was a teenager. I have tried at great lengths to not treat customers in my business like the sterotype car buying experience. My preferred buying process is: do own research, set own specs and then solicit quotes. I also include a requirement to to have all pre-sale matters (negotiations, availability, lease term, credit check... ) completed before I arrive for my new vehicle. Then I expect to exchange vehicles, sign papers, get acclimated to the new vehicle and leave, all within 1 hour. The last 2 transactions I made at MSH took less than an hour each at the dealership. They presented ALL terms to me via email. I agreed via email, completed the on-line credit app, brought my vehicle in for an appraisal (which took less than 40 minutes) and returned later in the evening to pick up my new vehicle. I have not used their service dept. as I use a Honda dealer near my home who has taken care of our maintenance matters sufficiently. But for the buying experience, MSH has done all that I asked, TWICE now. Joe R More

About a month ago on a rainy day my wife and I decided to ride through the car lot. When I got out to look at the detail sheet on a car window, Deanna came walking up with an umbrella and asked us if she co ride through the car lot. We told her we were not ready to buy we were still looking and figuring out what we needed. She asked us about what type of vehicle we thought would work best for us. She was very knowledgable about all of the cars even the mechanical part of the vehicles. I told her I am close to retirement and did not want a big car payment. Deanna took the time to listen to the things we were looking for and askedwere looking for and asked us a few questions. We took her card and contacted her a few days later to come and look at a few cars. She showed us all the vehicles and we test drove a new CRV and a used Honda Accord. She did not pressure us at any time, but she was very helpful in helping us determine the best car for us. On the 3rd visit we drove two used Honda Accords and Deanna was very knowledgable about each of the cars we test drove. So much so I asked her which car she would prefer if she was buying a vehicle. The vehicle we ended up buying was a 2006 Honda Accord, 1 owner sold at this dealership. She provided all the facts about the car and that made it an easy decision about which car best met our needs. The price was in line with NADA prices. Everyone we met, from Deanna to the sales manager and the finance person were great and helped me through the buying process quickly and smoothly. Deanna helped with the paperwork and got us through the process pretty quickly. I asked for some touch up paint and she took the time to go and get some for me right then and also provided me with a box to put the things from my old car in. Everyone was so helpful that I gave her card and a recommendation to my brother in law who has a Honda Pilot and is looking to purchase another Honda. I wouldn't hesitate to give a recommendation for the dealership or Deanna to anyone who is looking for a new or used vehicle. More

The second purchase was very smooth, easy and quick. I very much recommend David Craig and McKenney Salinas Honda. David helped facilitate the selection and purchase process. He is very professional but relaxed. He is not aggressive or high pressure. I have also used the service department at McKenney Salinas Honda for some years on an older 2001 Accord. My wife found the 2010 Acura TSX and fell in love with it on a Sunday when the dealership was closed. I had my financing ready before we went in to purchase the vehicle. I usually deal with Marvin Mathis as on a Sunday when the dealership was closed. I had my financing ready before we went in to purchase the vehicle. I usually deal with Marvin Mathis as we have purchased 4 cars from him before. Marvin was on vacation last week, so I was handed to Bob Roadman. We felt at ease with the salesman and the experience was good. We did have some trouble with the contact and communication on the finance end of it, but that was no reflection on Bob or the dealership. Before the deal was completed I pointed out that there were a few minor nicks on the Acura that I expected to be fixed, and Bob promised that he would see to it they were filled and painted, and that would be no problem. Bob had to wait around that evening to finalize the deal, because of the finance institution, but he seemed eager to work over to see the deal through. He called me around 8:30ish to let us know everything was complete, and told us we could pick up the car tomorrow. When we came in to get the Acura, we discussed the nicks and he assured us they would be taked care of when the body man was available. He texted my wife the following Monday morning and let us know we could bring the vehicle in after 9:15. The total experience has beed good, and Bob is very laid back and accomodating, with the exception of the finance glitch(at which I was more upset than him, because it took a little longer that we both anticipated), and I would recommend all my friends to buy their next car there. We will see how the nicks come out after repair before I comment on the service after the sell, but thus far we are very pleased. I was going to trade in a 1996 Acura I bought there, but they only offered me about 700 to 900... I opted to sell my 246,000 mile Acura, and it went fast, last Frioday for 2,500 cash. I would recommend not trading in any vehicle, at any dealership... more $ in your pocket. More
