My family started selling vehicles in 1927. Back then it was Model T's and dirt roads throughout nearly all of Southwest Florida. We were known as Lee Motors and my grandparents owned the store. They often told stories of Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone dropping-by the dealership. While vacationing at his home on the Caloosahatchee River, Mr. Ford would visit with the people that sold and serviced the vehicles he created and even ask advice on how he could make their jobs easier as design changes took place on future models. Then, in the mid 1940's and 50's my father, Sam Galloway Sr. assumed operating control and ownership of the store. Under mounting pressure from Ford Motor Company, the store was re-named and relocated. The Southwest corner of U.S. 41 and Colonial Boulevard became home to the new Sam Galloway Ford. "Senior", as my dad was know, remained the owner of the store until 1970. That was the year that I became the youngest Ford dealer in the United States and the Colonial location remained our home until 1996. After being in our Colonial location for over 40 years, we moved to our current location on Boy Scout Drive. While operating on Boy Scout Drive, we were given the opportunity to acquire the Lincoln franchise...and we did! Now, with my three children Sam III, Katherine and Robert, the fourth generation is involved with the management of our organization. Many things have changed during the last eight decades but not our family focus on our customers or our community. We support several different charitable organizations throughout Southwest Florida. Among them are the American Cancer Society, the preservation of the Edison-Ford Winter Estates and the Community Cooperative Ministries (The Soup Kitchen), to name just a few. Please take your time and enjoy the all new samgallowayford.com If, for some reason, you cannot find what you're looking for, feel free to call or e-mail us at info@gallowayauto.com Thanks and enjoy!
