Scheduling service at Shaker's Hyundai takes forever. When we call for routine maintenance or an oil change, no appointments are available for 2 months. When we needed a repair, it took over a month to get in. They were busy so it took them a few days to tell us they needed a part so we brought the car home. I told them I didn't want to wait months for another appointment and they told me they kept spots open for such an occasion where someone had to bring a car back in. The car was making a new rattling noise that it hadn't been making when we brought it in. The rattling was addressed when we brought it back in. The part took weeks even though they had estimated much quicker. It took repeated calls until someone in the parts department told us "it's still here waiting for you". From that point it still took about a month to get the car in. car was in for days before they got to it and told us they actually needed a different part. Brought the car home and waited for the new part. When that finally showed up, it was several days with no update to find out there was a worker shortage due to an illness. We tried being understanding but when multiple calls over the next week and a half got us no update I called to ask for a service manager. I'm not sure who I talked to but they said the car was the very next one to pull off the queue. I was very clear about how frustrated I was and told them I needed the car to be done before the weekend was over. I called back at the end of the weekend to be told "it was a bigger job than we thought." After reminding them of how much we'd already been waiting and at how poor communication was, he promised me he'd call before end of day to tell me it was done or that they needed more time. I called in on Monday because he had not called and was told they needed to order another part. They did not bring this up at all when I called late Saturday. I went in on Monday to get my car after verifying it was not taken apart and found out when I was there that they had to reorder a part because the one they received was broken. It was not a new part. The reordered part had just arrived and was also defective. So after several months of trying to get this fixed, I have pulled my car and am trying to find another dealer that can take care of this warranty repair. Communication with this dealer for the entire process was just awful. I mentioned it throughout the above notes, but there was repeated failure to get any kind of update. There was inconsistent information depending on who I talked to. When I brought this up the response I got was "I wasn't here that day" . Messages were not returned. When I talked to someone to ask for an update they'd say they would call back when they had gotten information from someone and then no call backs. I'd stay on hold rather then waiting for a callback but the updates I got were effectively useless. I would rather drive the extra 30+ minutes to the next closest dealer or even farther than one exit on the highway to Shaker's for any future maintenance. More
