Replaced my Mustang gear set with lower gear ratio Prior to purchasing a used Mustang from the Sheehy off of Midlothian Turnpike, I had taken the vehicle to my mechanic who noticed a pinion seal leak. Prior to purchasing a used Mustang from the Sheehy off of Midlothian Turnpike, I had taken the vehicle to my mechanic who noticed a pinion seal leak. Sheehy agreed to fix the leak so I purchased the vehicle. The leak was fixed but they failed to mention to me when I picked up my vehicle that their mechanic(s) did not put the gear assembly back properly. I drove the car for two or three days and could hear a loud noise coming from the axle area. I set another appointment the following week and that's when I was told there was too much spacing between the gears which ultimately ruined the gear set. Naturally they told me that they would replace the gears at no extra charge. Since I had just purchased the vehicle, I hadn't had the time to check the gear ratio prior to Sheehy servicing my vehicle, but after picking up my car after its second visit to the Service dept, I immediately noticed the lack of acceleration when I hit the gas. It was blatantly obvious they replaced my gears with a lower gear ratio. I've left messages for my sales rep, Chris Halprin, (whom I gave a good review earlier by the way) to try to figure out the original gear ratio, but, mysteriously, I don't get a return call. Now I'll have to pay to get the correct gears re-installed in my vehicle (at least $500) because Sheehy chose to save money instead of replacing the gears that they "broke" with the same gear ratio set. More
