As I could not find their used lot, Simply Better, I had to post this review to Rensselaer Honda. But as they were the ones to handle my refund, I can't see where they would be able to justify no affiliation to this company. My dealings with these people had to be the very worst 6 days of my life. I have never stressed out so much. This ordeal started on a Thursday. My husband went to the dealership with our financing already in order. All these people had to do was get a car that met the loan criteria and put everything through. They didn t even have to find us a loan approval. So they helped my husband pick out a vehicle, had him sign a sales reciept, and took our cash down payment. Then they told him that since this was an out of state deal, they d have to go to our local RMV in the morning and register the vehicle, at which time they would pick up my husband to bring him back from the Berkshires to fill out the rest of the paperwork and take delivery of the vehicle. This all sounded fishy to me. I have bought 3 cars from dealerships and never paid the downpayment until I was signing loan agreements. Never the less, we wait Friday morning. Having to be home in time for my children to get off the bus at 3:45pm we called and asked what was going on. We were told that the rep was en route to the RMV and would be picking us or my husband up shortly. So we wait. 2 hours. We call back. THE REP WAS WITH ANOTHER CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!!! So my husband talks to the Finance manager. The finance manager tells my husband that he had just finished the financing part and that the other rep was wrong and we would not be able to take ownership until Monday. Very frustrated, we wait through the weekend. On Monday, still no word. No one is helping. Finally my husband talks to the sales manager and is told the finance manager is ALSO wrong and that the financing is going to take 3 to 4 days to come back and then has to be sent back and then we ll have to wait some more. So my husband cancels the deal. We are then told that we would have to wait for our refund!!!!!! Are you kidding me?! They told us that the check had to be signed by someone who was not working that day and someone else and would not give us any names at all. They told us the check would be available for pick up on Tuesday morning at 9am and they would be happy for us to pick it up then. So we call first thing this morning......should have known. Nothing these people ever say is what is actually going on. And the more you wait, the worse the situation gets. By this time I am wishing my husband never gave them any money so we could just walk away!!!!! So after being hung up on several times Tuesday morning, we finally decided waiting was not the way to get anything done with these people. Luckily, our check was not even in their hands. Rensselaer Honda was handling it. By 1pm we had our cash and sanity back. And I actually bought a newer model of the same car later that day from a different dealership. And with much better financing found by the awesome dealer.
