Not even sure where to begin. I took my car here for two visits in one -the first and the last. I have driven a Chevy for the last ten years and have always taken it to the dealership service department for visits in one -the first and the last. I have driven a Chevy for the last ten years and have always taken it to the dealership service department for maintenance. I relocated recently so thought I would try out Sir Walter for a simple maintenance visit, and asked them to run a diagnostic while there. The staff was unhelpful when I checked in, and turns out they charge you separately for each system they test during that diagnostic test. I get a call later in the day that my car is literally in an undriveable and dangerous condition, with repairs of upward of $2000 necessary for its survival. They told me I had an oil leak and messed up spark plugs, and when I got there to pick up the vehicle, they were telling another customer the exact same thing (the other customer was also not pleased). I took my car in to a different service shop today for a second opinion, literally everything I learned at this dealership that was “wrong” with my car was in perfect condition, and my car was perfectly safe and able to be driven; down to the fact that my oil had no leak and some of the standard maintenance they suggested wasn’t even necessary. This situation felt quite extreme, since the actual service necessary on my vehicle cost less than the price of running the diagnostic with Sir Walter. I have literally not left a bad or negative review for a business in my life. Everyone has off days; this, however, was unethical and unacceptable. Be wary if you come here, and ALWAYS get a second opinion if you do... especially if they pull the old oil leak and spark plug bit on you- a misdiagnosis too dangerous for them to be misapplying like this. It’s making me add a rep I worked with, but none of the people I worked with were available on the list. I do not know Matt, and I did not work with him. More
I recently was looking for a Chevy dealership to service my 1999 Corvette .It has 2500 miles on it. I was told that they would not work on it because it was too old. They said they would only work on a Chev my 1999 Corvette .It has 2500 miles on it. I was told that they would not work on it because it was too old. They said they would only work on a Chevy that old if they had done all the previous service on it. I guess when its that old Sir Walter doesn't consider it to be a Chevy anymore unless they did all the service on it. More
Man do they have a friendly sales department. You feel pretty good walking out with your new car. But when something goes wrong, which it will because you bought a Chevy, it's a whole different world. Asi pretty good walking out with your new car. But when something goes wrong, which it will because you bought a Chevy, it's a whole different world. Aside from the lack of customer service, they do terrible work. After 6 trips for one issue, it's not even fixed. And no one is apologetic. I would say don't buy a Chevy, but if you're set on it at least don't buy it here. More

Client/Sales are great...Service is questionable. I had such a great experience with the purchase of my new '19 Silverado. My Sales Advisor, Bryan was great. The finance guy, Chiago, was great as well I had such a great experience with the purchase of my new '19 Silverado. My Sales Advisor, Bryan was great. The finance guy, Chiago, was great as well! Super nice guys! There were two accessories that I wanted as part of the deal; a tonneau cover and tool boxes. Of course, sales was eager and able to sell them, even though they have little knowledge of accessories, to make the deal. They did their job and verified they would be able to honor the deal by installing the accessories, as requested. Now comes the reason for 3 Stars... It took +2 weeks to get the accessories in, during a time where everything is shipped in 2 days or less. There were two small issues with the finish on the truck that were noted during my pre-delivery checklist...no big deal. I set up an appointment to take the truck in for the install of the tonneau and the toolboxes only to later find out that 1) the "guy" that does their finish work wasn't there that day and 2) the toolboxes don't fit. The finish "guy" being off isn't such a big deal as everyone deserves their time off. The big disappointment is in the service department for throwing their hands up about the toolboxes instead of calling the manufacturer for clarifying details. I reached out to the MFG for clarification to find that the boxes do fit fine, when installed correctly. The service department didn't know what they were doing, so they moved on and put the problem off to someone else. So, I am going to have to take the truck back for the install (which I could easily do myself, but it is the principle and what I paid for). During all of this, I had to deal with my sales advisor instead of the service manager calling me to discuss the issue. Again...a SALES advisor...not the guy responsible for installing it. The guy we spoke to at the parts counter was a bit smug at first and didn't appear to want to help. He ended up coming around, which I appreciated. The whole experience makes me wonder if they can take care of my truck for years to come and wonder what the next experience will be like. More
Lies and Shady Business Practices I bought my 2016 Silverado from Sir Walter brand new with an extended 100k warranty. Brought my truck in last week at 37k miles (1k out of 36k bumper I bought my 2016 Silverado from Sir Walter brand new with an extended 100k warranty. Brought my truck in last week at 37k miles (1k out of 36k bumper to bumper) for a power braking issue. I will preface by saying I did a ton of research on this issue before hand, and the issue with my truck is well known and has affected hundreds of GM full size trucks and SUV's across the US. Not only that, but there is a service bulletin out, and a class action lawsuit against GM for safety concerns and them using knowingly faulty parts resulting in active brake failures. I will also preface with the fact that the "technician" at Sir Walter was able to replicate this issue every single time when testing the vehicle. So, I bring my truck in to get this repaired, or the faulty part (vacuum pump) replaced, and I was told 2 things by the tech - Number 1: I need to bring my truck back to stock form. My wheels and tires are too heavy for my truck, causing the failure. This was so comical, I thought he was joking. My truck is leveled 2" with OEM GM wheels and slightly larger, more aggressive tires. This "diagnosis" is coming from a dealership that sells trucks that are lifted higher, with larger/heavier wheels/tires than are on my truck, on the same factory brake components. Keep in mind, this is also a truck with an 8k+ tow capacity, and they blamed it on my wheels and tires being being MAYBE 15 lbs heavier each than the stock setup. This is a total cop out answer and poor attempt to say that my warranty is void and wont cover the issue, due to my modifications to my truck. This may have worked on someone who doesn't know much about trucks/cars, but not me. First valid attempt to take advantage of a "valued customer". Number 2: Before diagnosing and pinpointing the issue (besides the comical answer I just stated), I was told that pretty much my whole power braking system needs to be replaced (vacuum pump, brake booster, master cylinder, and all hosing associated), with a grand total of $2,000 out of pocket because it will NOT be covered under my 100k warranty (complete BS). I was also told that this may not fix the issue.... My truck was dropped of on a Tuesday, and I picked it up the following Monday, so it sat for 6 days, untouched after the initial testing. RESOLUTION: No more Sir walter Chevrolet. After picking up my truck, I brought it to a friends shop, where they were able to - test, diagnose, and FIX the problem in ONE DAY. FIX: Bad Vaccum pump. Quick and easy replacement with the updated GM pump, checked other components and everything else functioned just as it should. Keep in mind, Sir Walter wanted to charge me $2k out of pocket to replace other related parts that were completely fine. This was replaced for a fraction of that cost, and get this, it WAS covered under warranty! MORAL OF THE STORY: All things considered, Brian and Brandon have been great to work with. That was literally the only positive. I really wanted to like Sir Walter Chevy, however I will never be back to them for anything. I've even got a handful of free oil changes/services left that I will not be exhausting because I no longer trust them with my truck. All due to shady business practices, incompetence, attempted exploitation, and negligence to their customer's needs. Being a customer that spent almost $50k on a truck, this whole process was super negligent and unprofessional. Service department is a total scam. I had every intention of purchasing my next truck from them at the end of this year but will now go elsewhere. I also have a few friends that are in the market to buy trucks in the the immediate future, as well as many more friends/colleagues beyond that looking to purchase personal and business related vehicles. I have, and will continue to urge everyone I know to purchase from any other dealership in the area besides Sir Walter. More

Poor service after the sale. Sir Walter was very helpful and friendly, until they got my money. I purchased a new truck a couple weeks ago and decided to detail the truck this pas Sir Walter was very helpful and friendly, until they got my money. I purchased a new truck a couple weeks ago and decided to detail the truck this past Saturday (it's been under a carport most days since I purchased it), so I pull it into my garage underneath fluorescent lights, wash it and dry it off. While drying it I noticed several pieces of debris in the paint. Then I notice a few dull spots where it has been sanded and buffed, with some still having sand scratches. So I begin to wonder if it has been repainted, and why I was not informed of it before the purchase. NC state law requires a dealer to report in writing and damage that exceeds 5% of the purchase price, and anything less has to be told to the customer if asked. After attempting to call the salesperson I purchased from multiple times with no response, I finally got a hold of the service dept. to find out if any repairs were on that vehicle and they said nothing was found. I then told them about the debris in the paint and the sand scratches/buff marks and was directed to a sales manager that said I need to bring it to the service dept. for them to inspect it. So I scheduled a time, took off work, and drove 80 miles to the dealership, only to be told they do not have a body shop and I have to take it to another dealer. The closest one to me they said is 140 away from them (about 60 for me). Now I'm sure the sales manager I spoke with knew they did not have a body shop yet they had me drive all that way without even an apology. I can get it repaired at a local body shop that does new car warranty work weekly, but they said no it has to go to another dealer. They did not even offer to contact the dealer in question and explain the situation or schedule an appointment. I asked them if they could at least provide an extended warranty on the paint as the it has been sanded thin in some spots and could be an issue down the road, they said all they could do is contact Chevrolet and see what they say. I'm holding my breath on that. We'll see what they decide and if it's favorable I'll report back and share. More
