Very Frustrating On April 2 I clicked on an ad online at AutoTrader. I then received a call later that day from Kay Kofoed from Steve's Hometown Motors in Weiser, ID. On April 2 I clicked on an ad online at AutoTrader. I then received a call later that day from Kay Kofoed from Steve's Hometown Motors in Weiser, ID. We talked about a Ram 4 door truck and the price. With my past dealings with other dealerships I was aware of the questionable tactic where dealerships put every possible/available incentive on a truck and list it online for a low price. We discussed the price and it was understood that the price listed in the add at $31,450 would not be obtainable due to the fact that I did not have a trade-in vehicle. So I clarified with Kay that the price would be $32,450 and that I was not willing to drive the 7+ hours up to Weiser if the price went up. Kay said $32,450 would be the price. I agreed to drive up the next day On April 3 I drove to Hometown Motors in Weiser, ID. I met Kay in the dealership and immediately walked out the front door where the truck I was interested in was washed and waiting for me. I wasn't shown any other trucks nor did I look at any others, as the truck I was interested in was the one that was waiting at the front doors for me. We took the truck for a test drive, came back and started working up the paperwork for purchase. After about an hour and a half to two hours the paperwork was finally ready to be signed. I signed the paper work they prepared for me, paid my down payment, Kay walked me through the purchase check off and they handed me the keys, congratulated me on the purchase of my new truck and then I drove back to Utah. That was all the contact that I had with the dealership and I was waiting for the paperwork and truck information that they were supposed to send to the Utah DMV for my registration. Then about April 25 I received a call from Kay Kofoed stating that the paperwork that I had been given listed the wrong VIN. I then checked the paperwork they had gaven me and compared VINs with the Truck and found that they were different. That the only paperwork that had the correct VIN on it was the feature and information check off that Kay had given me. Kay said someone would be contacting me and sending out the fixed contract. Then on April 26, I received an Email from Mike Taylor saying that they were reprinting the new contract and that they were going to FedEx the documents to me. I called Mike to make sure everything would be the same on the contract and that everything would be the same. Mike said it would but that their Finance Dept was the ones who printed it up. A few hours later I received an email stating that there was a price difference in the trucks of $3,160 and that my options were to either pay the difference or accept delivery of the truck that was on the paperwork and had the wrong VIN. I immediately tried to call Mike and was told he was unavailable but would be given a message to call me back. I tried to call again on April 27 and was never called back. I then penned an email on the night of the 27th stating that I wanted the corrected paperwork with the corrected VIN sent to me and referenced the section of the paperwork talking about errors. I then heard nothing from Hometown motors until April 30th when I received another email from Mike Taylor saying that the truck that I had was not the one I was under contract for and that in no uncertain terms that they would have a delivery person reach out to schedule delivery of the truck who's VIN they accidently put on my paperwork. I then sat down to compose another email knowing that they would not talk to me over the phone or call me back. While I was doing this my Fiancée found Hometown Motors Facebook page and posted a scathing review. Within 20 minutes of her posting the negative review a Brent Bradshaw called me and identified himself as the GM of Hometown Motors. Brent told me again that there was a $3,160 difference between the two trucks and asked me what I wanted to do. I said I wanted the contract that I signed to be honored with the correct VIN number placed on it. He said that the money had to be made up somewhere and that he'd have to take the money out of Kay's pay and that a mistake along these lines may be cause for employee termination. I said I didn't want that but that I didn't think it was fair that I had to pay for their mistake. He said that the best he could do would be take $2000 of the price but that I would have to pay the remaining $1160. I said no and that I had been in contact with a lawyer and was prepared to go down that path if need be. Brent said that would be a bad idea, due to having to pay lawyers fees and what not and that when all was said and done I would pay more then the $3000 dollars needed to make up the difference and that they also had lawyers. Brent also took this time to point out that " I had some skin in the game too," that it was my responsibility to check the VIN before leaving. Brent then asked me what I wanted to do I said I either wanted the contract with the corrected VIN on it honored. Or they could come pick the truck up from me with the canceled contract and a cashiers check refunding my down payment. The conversation then just sort of ended with nothing decided. About 20-30 minutes later Mike Taylor called me and said they would honor the contract and they would FedEx me the new contract. He then asked me to take down the negative review on Facebook. I said I would when everything was complete (her review is still posted as we are still waiting for all issues to be resolved) I received the new paperwork, I signed everywhere that they indicated and FedExed them back to them on May 3rd, Per the tracking they recieved it May 6th I thought everything was going to be taken care of.... But I started checking my Chrysler Capital statement and saw that my name and account were still listed under the incorrect VIN number and that they were requiring a payment on May 17. I called and talked to Chrysler Capital. They recommended that I call the Dealership and get them to take care of the issue or fix the problem. I called Mike Taylor on May 13th and explain what was going on he said he would contact someone to resolve the issue and that he would have them call me to confirm. I never received a call back and once again I called multiple times on Wed May 15th with a receptionist saying Mike was unavailable and that she would leave a message to have him call me. I then called on Thursday the 16th and was directed to a Voicemail where I tried to convey what Chrysler Capital was recommending I do and that I wanted someone to call me back... Chrysler Capital recommended a few things... Which was to start an investigation on their end which I have done, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau- done, file a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General under Consumer Complaints and file a formal complaint with the Local Dealer Board/ Idaho DMV Investagations which I have also done As of today I still have never been called or called back, there are multiple investigations going just to get this issue resolved to the point where I can make a payment on the correct truck. I am still being told by Chrysler Capital that the dealership is the one that needs to resolve the issue through their channels and that that's where the delay is....... More

Michael explained features of every vehicle he showed us on the lot. My heart was set on a "RAM 4-door" for many years now. Once we saw the 2019 "RAM" 4-door and Michael explained to us all about this vehicle, that was it! Given the fact that it has a "HEMI" is what convinced my husband that this is the truck for us. We are very happy with our new truck. This was a wonderful experience for us! Michael Anderson is the best! More
