SERVICE DEPARTMENT My husband and I LOVE the Hyundai Equus. We purchased a 2011 and a 2014 . My problem is with the service department. I was taking a friend with P My husband and I LOVE the Hyundai Equus. We purchased a 2011 and a 2014 . My problem is with the service department. I was taking a friend with Parkinsons disease to Charlotte to fulfill a final wish to see a Johnny Mathis concert and realized that I needed to make sure my car was ready for perfect performance. When I took it in, the service department said I needed new tires. I was leaving in two days and had them put on new tires even though the 1130.00 price tag was a stretch for a newly widowed 74 year old. The tires performed well on the trip but the Monday after the week-end trip, I had a blow out which the dealership said was a nail in the sidewall. They replaced the less than a week old tire for $44.00. A month later driving from downtown Newnan, I had another blowout on the other rear tire. I told the dealership that I was not comfortable driving on the Continental Conti Pro tire which they selected and put on the Equus and should have asked about Michelins which my husband always bought for our cars. I asked what they would give me for the tires and what they would charge for Michelins. They will not take the Continentals back ---which begs the question of why they put them on a recent widow's car in the first place. If they aren't good enough for a resale that needs new tires, then they should not have been put on my car .Since all of this has happened, I've read reviews of the Continental Conti Pro which mentions the weak sidewalls. I will not buy another Hyundai because of this experience with the service department. Diane K. More
