I purchased a certified pre-owned Ram 2500 with approximately 80,000 miles from this dealership for $40,000. Within the first week, I reported several issues: frozen front brake calipers, cruise co approximately 80,000 miles from this dealership for $40,000. Within the first week, I reported several issues: frozen front brake calipers, cruise control that would not disengage at highway speed until the truck was shut off, a failed A/C compressor, and an open recall related to the cruise-control system. These issues were not disclosed to me before the sale, based on my understanding of the transaction. The initial repairs totaled approximately $3,500. The dealership paid for most of those repairs. As of this review, I am still waiting for the recall-related cruise-control issue to be resolved. Approximately two weeks later, the transmission failed while I was driving on I-94 near Black River Falls. I contacted the dealership and arranged for the truck to be towed back to them. The towing cost was approximately $1,200. The dealership accepted the truck and provided a loaner vehicle the following day. The dealership later informed me that I was responsible for the inspection, towing, and transmission replacement. The inspection was quoted at approximately $900, and the total estimated repair cost was approximately $15,000, occurring about 30 days after the purchase. The dealership also stated that it could place a lien on the truck if its charges were not paid. My conclusion is based on the timing, number, and cost of the reported problems. In my experience, a $40k certified pre-owned truck with approximately 80,000 miles should not require an estimated $15,000 in repairs within its first month. I recommend that prospective buyers carefully inspect any vehicle from this dealership, review its service and recall history, and clarify warranty and repair responsibilities in writing before completing a purchase. More
