hello growingfamily I'm trying to figure out who here you worked with and why they said to call ahead before coming in....the value of the $200 is because of our size of an auto dealer we get incentives from our various banks, well we try to be #1 priced no matter what it takes even if that means a large loss sale below cost to be #1 priced to value compared to all the other like cars in the local market area, we look out to almost a 500 mile radius when comparing our pricing so we have to use every tool we have at our disposal, I price my inventory $200 below cost in most cases to make it the lowest out there, we watch these figures weekly if not daily in our company, I always put the disclaimer in the comments that we need to do the financing involved otherwise we need to collect the fee, if we don't get re-imbursed then we can't pass that savings to the customer, most dealer groups pocket the incentives...we choose not to but we need to finance the car in order to get it released back to us after the sale is processed, I hope this sheds some light on the matter thanks todd grim sales mgr

Todd, I see that you have adjusted the price to 6,888. I would find it hard to believe that you found very much wrong with the Mountaineer as Dana had things fixed immediately and maintenanced regularly. I know you had to replace the back door piece that was cracked, but I would bet that was it. As I mentioned, I just want honesty and fairness and was told you would have to list at 6,000 to be competitive. Apparently wholesale pricing is higher then I was told in the negotiation.
