This was resolved with the district manager. I do think though that the customer should be offered a rental as soon as the repair service knows the part needed may not come in and be notified it did not arrive, especially when it is because of a do not drive recall.

I had an appointment for oil change, brought car without any lights on dash board. After service check engine light appeared on dash board but I already left the shop. I called back, they told me to stop by. I stopped by on Saturday, they were closed, stopped by on Wednesday. They checked my car and said that everything that was done at the time of an appointment a week ago was good. I left service and looked at my dash board, check engine light was still there. I called back and asked why. An answer was "to check what is going the car needs to get diagnosed and I have to pay for it". I said one more time that I brought my car WITHOUT any lights on dash board but picked the car WITH check engine light. The answer was the same. Now I have to find someone who can check my car. I guess my relationship with Harrisonburg Ford is over. Very disappointed.
