H Eric was very helpful with my car buying experience. He was very thorough and followed up with phone calls to keep me posted on the delivery date. He spent ample time with me when I picked the car up to explain all of the features. Khalid Aladdin was also very helpful, he came to my house on a Sunday to pick up my title for a trade in, also very pleasant. More

When confronted about the notorious lies , their excuse was we are sorry we let a new technician work on your car. Like what does that even mean? They had my car for 45 days for something as simple as new tires and inspection.( the car has 30k on it) Dave Brown should be fired. This experience has ruined Subaru for me. I will never buy another one. More

Not only did they complete what I asked for in a timely manner, but they also checked for recall issues and were able to get those fixed as well. Entire Service Department was very friendly and down to earth...I never felt like they were trying to upsell services that I didn't need. Recommend! More

Salesman Bill gave me the price and as I was looking it over he stated that it was "non negotiable". I informed him that I already received a price on the exact same vehicle several hundred dollars lower from another dealer and he ignorantly said that I should buy it there. So of course I began to leave and he wanted me to speak to the manager. At that point there was no reason to do so. Bill was a great salesman, unfortunately for Day Subaru it was for a competitor. We decided t We needed to replace my four-year-old manual transmission car with an automatic because I could no longer push the clutch (ankle injury). We decided that buying a brand-new car that had the color and all the options we wanted would at least take some of the sting out of having to purchase a new car so soon after the last one. I got on the internet to locate the closest cars that matched what we wanted. There were none where we live, which did not surprise me, but there were two within driving distance. We decided on the one further away (by about half an hour's drive) because it was at Day West Liberty Subaru - where we had purchased the last one. We had an excellent experience that time, and indeed I wrote a glowing review on this very site. I filled out the contact form on the website asking if it was still available, and explaining that I wanted to be sure before making a 4.5 hour drive, also mentioning that it would be a week before I could come because of work. My first contact was unanswered. The second one received a standard "form" response from the internet sales specialist, Jennifer Reilly, inviting me to come in that afternoon to take a test drive. I guess that should have been a red flag, that she didn't even read my messages to know that I was making a drive from out-of-state and that I couldn't come till the weekend. I finally got her straightened out, received a "lowest quote" from her that was in the ballpark of what we had expected to pay for this particular new car, and stayed in touch until we left home on Saturday morning, letting her know what time we expected to arrive. When we arrived (exactly when we said we would) we were surprised not to see "our" car in the lot - the last time it had been waiting for us, newly washed. But we were greeted by a friendly salesman, Mike Mozurak, who clearly didn't know of our appointment, and ushered to a desk to wait for Jennifer. When she finally showed up, she turned us over to Mike. Mike sent someone to get the car, and mentioned that a manager had been driving it as a demo. Second red flag. Upon inquiry it turned out it already had over 4000 miles on it. There is nothing wrong with buying a demo - we have done it before, with significant savings - as long as you know that’s what you’re getting into. But I have double-checked the nine emails I received from Jennifer before hitting the road, and there was no mention that my “new” car had been driven for several months. She obviously knew that once we had made that drive, there would probably be a sale, and indeed, we had only this one day available in our busy schedules in which to make a purchase - so we had to buy our car then, even though we weren’t happy about it already having so many miles on it. Jennifer’s emails had mentioned a “Labor Union Appreciation” discount. I showed my union card and Mike copied it - but then we were told by Mark Whaley, the general manager, that the price she had quoted me was already the lowest possible price and the $500 union discount couldn’t be applied on top (so is it a real discount?) However, Mark realized we hadn’t known ahead of time that the car already had a lot of miles on it, and did deduct $0.15/mile from the price for us, which came to about $600 “discount.” As far as our trade-in was concerned, Jennifer’s email had gushed, “keep in mind that no one, and I mean no one, pays more for trades than we do!” Well...not exactly. First of all, they went over it with a fine-toothed comb, noting every tiny scratch on the finish. Then those scratches were entered into the Kelley Blue Book site, along with other condition details (we had brought records of the bodywork that had been done the one time it was rear-ended - because it was the ethical thing to do.) KBB then gave a value, which was, of course, much lower than expected because of all those little scratches. We were OK with it, not happy, but OK, because of course they have to be able to resell the car, and condition DOES matter. But when we got our “new” (in reality, used) car home, we discovered many similar scratches on it. And some small stains in the interior, plus globs of sticky adhesive where the labels had been. And I opened the trunk when we got home to find, to my surprise, a set of dirty rubber mats in it - presumably they had been used throughout the winter, and maybe rinsed, but not really cleaned. In fact, although someone took the “new” car to wash before we drove away, it wasn’t very clean. Whereas we had washed and vacuumed our trade-in thoroughly before driving it to PA (although of course it had accumulated some bugs by the time we arrived). The minor imperfections had been deducted from our trade-in price, but we didn’t get similar compensation for those imperfections on our “new” vehicle. I want to say right here, I'd buy a car again from our salesman Mike Mozurak in a heartbeat. He was pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, and direct - just a really nice guy, and he didn’t know that she hadn't told us about the car being a demo. None of this was his fault. While we were waiting (and there’s a lot of waiting that goes on in a car transaction!) he called our insurance company for us, and he also wrote out clear and detailed directions for us to avoid a detour on our way home. The rest of the staff we dealt with were excellent, as well. Khalid, the financial manager, was delightful and conscientious, and Mark, the general manager, worked with us very considerately on the mileage restitution. Our disappointment was in leaving at 9 AM Saturday morning to purchase a new car, and returning home at 9 PM with a used car - current model, but used nonetheless, for which we had paid a new car price. Had we known ahead of time, we might have purchased it anyway, or more probably we would have driven the shorter distance to another dealership. It was, in our opinion, completely unethical to let the customers come all that distance in the mistaken expectation of purchasing a NEW car. Every time I get in my "new" car I see those scratches that someone else put on it, and the miles on the odometer. The last time I reviewed Day West Liberty Subaru I wrote “We came away from the deal feeling that Day West Liberty would be the place to go for our next car purchase...” I am afraid that I would have to add the word “not” this time around.
