Sunrise Ford (Fontana)Re: 2004 Ford F250 Vin # 1FTNF20S84EB88910
Purchased on 29 March 2004.

Dear Michelle, when I purchased this truck on the above date it had a steering problem (pulls to the left). I was assured that it was a small problem and it would be taken care of. I did not take possession of the vehicle until the next day to give your maintenance department a chance to correct the problem. The truck was returned to me on the 30th of March with a guarantee that the problem had been solved. Please see invoice # 584004, tag # T7477.

Needles to say the problem is still there. I have put 40 miles on the odometer and I have hated every single one of those miles. Having to fight the truck in order to keep it going straight is not a good driving experience, specially for a new vehicle. I will be bringing the truck in for this and other problems this coming Wednesday 6 April 2004.

Michelle, this truck was brought in to your shop from San Diego Ca. by one of your service representatives…on the open road. And in so doing has compromised the engine and transmission brake-in procedure. I am a maintenance director for a fleet of military aircraft with a degree in physics and aircraft technology, and so I know my way around mechanical equipment. By driving this vehicle on the open road at freeway speeds for two hours with over inflated tires (85-90 psi), I know the engine, the steel belts in the tires, and the transmission where over heated and the lifespan of these components have been severely shortened or the components damaged. Not to mention the muffler of the vehicle, it shows signs of over heating as is evident by the discoloration. There is also paint missing on the rear axle just aft of the muffler (evidence of very hot substance coming of the muffler onto the rear axle).

The truck is now making a very loud metallic noise coming from the engine compartment when it is first started after sitting for a few days. Not sure what this is but it does not sound good.

Michelle, I hope we can settle this between us so that I’m not forced to take further steps to satisfy this complaint. We can meet and talk, I am a civil and reasonable person…and I would very much like to recommend your dealership to friends and family.

Yours truly,
Robert Soto

More
