1-Star Review: Gillman Chevrolet – Misrepresentation and Lies My husband and I went to Gillman Chevrolet for a work van after buying a franchise. We told Joshua Moore upfront: no business credit, new business, need guidance for commercial use. Found a 2020 Express, got “approved” with Capital One, signed—seemed fine. Weeks later, Calvin in finance calls: loan canceled because Capital One doesn’t do commercial loans. We were shocked—we told them it was for business from day one. They needed our credit unlocked again. Calvin promised answers, then disappeared. He “no longer works there.” Now dealing with Eric, who lied about calling us, pushed for another credit pull, gave vague updates. Then GM Amir blamed us for “spooking” Capital One by saying “commercial.” Absurd—we were transparent from the start. They threatened to report the van stolen if we didn’t return it. But Capital One’s records showed no cancellation—contradicting everything Gillman said. I verified directly. With the van already wrapped for business, returning wasn’t an option. Their “team” couldn’t secure a commercial loan. So we paid it off ourselves to escape. This wasn’t a mistake—it was misrepresentation, lies, and zero accountability. They turned a simple purchase into a nightmare, then gaslit us. Avoid Gillman for commercial vehicles. Demand written loan terms, get sign-offs, protect yourself. Their finance and management are incompetent and dishonest. We’ll never return to any Chevy dealer. We warn every business owner: they don’t help entrepreneurs—they trap them. Hope they get real training in ethics and service. Stay away. More
Yesterday, 08/25/2025, I searched online for and found a 1st Gen, 2007 Honda Ridgeline, at Team Gillman Chevrolet, in Houston, TX, which I inquired about via TrueCar (TC) online. According to TC, it was lis 1st Gen, 2007 Honda Ridgeline, at Team Gillman Chevrolet, in Houston, TX, which I inquired about via TrueCar (TC) online. According to TC, it was listed as, VIN 2HJYK16597H550904, Stock V240802A, Listed 9 days ago. At around 7:00 pm yesterday, while speaking to a rep at Gunn Honda, San Antonio, I received 2 calls from a sales rep at Team Gillman Chevrolet, to speak about the aforementioned Ridgeline. Today 08/26/2025 I looked up the this Ridgeline on Team Gillman's website and to my surprise, it was selling for $2000.00 LESS than I had been quoted by TC. Team Gillman's ad also claimed that this vehicle had the "Team Gillman, Great Deal, Lifetime Engine Warranty", which I discovered requires it to first have been through a rigorous 150 point inspection. I thought, "Fantastic, this truck must actually be in great shape!" It also had the free Carfax report which I checked out. I noted nothing negative about the vehicle through Carfax, except had been owned in Oregon (where they sand and salt roads for winter snow and ice) so I asked in writing via Team Gillman's website questionnaire, for pics of the chassis so I could check for rust, the engine bay, tire treads (because they looked worn on the inside),the Ridgeline's famous 2-way tailgate opened in both directions and the open trunk as well. At around 3:00 pm, I received 1 call today from a sales rep at Team Gillman Chevrolet, looking to sell me this vehicle. I asked for the aforementioned photos and an explanation as to how the Lifetime Engine Warranty worked, etc. They assured me that the information was forthcoming via email. It never arrived. Shortly after 4:00 pm, I received a call from someone who went by Kimberly, who claimed to be a sales manager. Kimberly proceeded to explain that earlier today, the Ridgeline I was looking for, was pulled from the lot and sent to wholesalers, because it was deemed "unsafe to drive". After hanging up, I thought, "how can a vehicle that passed a "Meticulous 150-point inspection" that was also deemed a "Qualified pre-owned vehicle" and that earned Team Gillman's "Free Lifetime Engine Warranty" suddenly, after I asked a few pointed questions about the vehicle's condition, be suddenly pulled from the lot and no longer for sale for being unsafe to drive? Shouldn't that have been uncovered during that meticulous inspection? It made no sense. So, I called back to speak to Kimberly. I spoke to a secretary, who was going to patch me over to sales, but I requested a manager. She patched me over to someone allegedly named Adam Baza. I explained the situation to him. I told him that there is a lapse with either the QC process within your sales Dept., or in your Repair Shop, or both. He explained that sometimes, when vehicles come in, they are pushed out on to the sales lot and listed for sale, prior to receiving the 150 point inspection, knowing that they will be inspected later. I asked, then how did it qualify for the "Team Gillman, Great Deal, Lifetime Engine Warranty". He explained that this sometimes as well as we are not perfect here, nobody is perfect. I continued to press him for answers and for being given the runaround. By now, I was frustrated with his non-Cha lance and his condescending attitude; it was as though I was just supposed to be good with his words, accept them and go away. I told him this vehicle had been on his lot, with that badge for over 2 weeks (actually 9 days that I can prove as listed with TC), it still hasn't been inspected? It still qualifies as a GREAT DEAL? Lifetime Engine Warranty? Unacceptable. He then changed tactics, saying no one gave you the runaround, we stopped you from driving all the way here, and he asked what do you want from me?, what do you want me to do?, are you buying a car from us or not, because I need to get off of here? I said I was, but not any longer. He gave excuses. I insulted him and he hung up. He would have done so regardless. More
I was pre-approved by my bank to purchase a vehicle, but unfortunately, I ended up at the wrong dealership. They seemed more interested in misleading customers than actually helping them. The finance repres unfortunately, I ended up at the wrong dealership. They seemed more interested in misleading customers than actually helping them. The finance representative was especially rude and unprofessional. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. More
Was lied to about a car was told we could trade in our car and get a 2023 ford explorer, and the deal was done so we drove 2 1/2 hours to get there and when we go there they showed us a different vehicle car and get a 2023 ford explorer, and the deal was done so we drove 2 1/2 hours to get there and when we go there they showed us a different vehicle and was not willing to trade our vehicle and then also wanted a down payment after they said no down payment then tried to make up voluntarily have our other vehicle repossessed so we could get the vehicle from them. I did not get home till 2 am and had to be at work at 9. They lied and I will never recommend them to anyone More
I could not and would not even give this team a 1 star rating BUT IT REQUIRES A RATING. Well let me clarify that, this management team!!!!!! Not only are they willing to honor their advertised price of mu rating BUT IT REQUIRES A RATING. Well let me clarify that, this management team!!!!!! Not only are they willing to honor their advertised price of multiple vehicles posted on multiple sites but they are the most unprofessional people I have dealt with. After I had inquired about the vehicles online a sales member contacted me just like they always too. When I informed him about which vehicles I was interested in, is when the lies started pouring out. First I was told that these were vehicles being taken out of loaner statues and if I was interested in a used car. I explained that I was interested in the ones that I had inquired about and he told that the sales manager was working on getting those removed from loaner status. Once he was done, he would reach out to me about those vehicles. Within a hour I noticed that all the prices of the vehicles I inquired about were being changed. I waited 4 hours and no call back. So I reached back out to them, and was given the finance manager to speak. He started to try and tell me that those prices were the lease price and the new prices posted are the actual price. After I explained that a lease price was no were to be mentioned and that I had even selected to finance for 72 months at a predetermined interest rate in order to get payment information. I even explained to him that I had the pricing and all info on video. He then went on to tell me that if I was not willing to lease then he could not help me and I was let go. After a few mins I called back to speak with the new car sales manager, which is the person I originally called since he was the one who was supposed to get back with me hours ago. This man was even worse with the lies. He started off by telling me that his finance manager (who ran and told him about our previous conversation) had already explained the pricing to me. But I was not buying that. He then went on to tell me that basically he was the manager and that he could do what ever he wanted. If he wanted to change the price then he could change prices all day long. And that if I was unsatisfied with that then he didn't need by business because he receives 300 phone calls a day about vehicles. By this time I was hot and went on to tell him about his amazing customer service and how it was ridiculous that he not only would not honor the advertised prices but if all the lies were true then why were all the prices changed as soon as I brought them to his attention? Thats when he started to back track and threw out - well you see sir today is the 4th and thats the day we adjust prices. LOL you have to be kidding me, ANOTHER EXCUSE!!!!!!! By then I was done with it. Now I'm not someone trying to get over on anyone by any means, I'm a firm believer in treat others the way you would want to be treated. I was just a potential buyer who was wanting what they had advertised. But it seems like they was not even willing to work with me but instead DID NOT NEED MY BUSINESS . It is the fact that if it was a mistake then own up to it and do whats is right. Honor it (TEXAS DMV 215-250).......Do not feed lie after lie and tell me that my business is unwanted. AND YOU PRIDE YOURSELF ON CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! More

We put a $1000 non refundable deposit down on a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe mid November. We were told by the salesman msrp price only and I verified that with him thru text which I still have. We were informe Chevrolet Tahoe mid November. We were told by the salesman msrp price only and I verified that with him thru text which I still have. We were informed that the vehicle arrived Friday(12/17/21) and we drove 3 hours to pick it up. The salesman was very nice and communicated well during the buying process and at the dealership until he went and got the sales manager for the final price sheet with our trade in. The sales manager shows us a sheet with a protection package $4000 over msrp and says it has to be included in the price when it was never discussed the whole previous month waiting for the vehicle to come in. I showed him the messages between the salesman and I where he says msrp only no add ons before we put down the deposit. He straight up said take it or leave it he doesn’t care. We discussed it more and I asked him why he couldn’t honor what the salesman told us and he said he could do half off, he could not go any lower since the tires had nitrogen put in them and the windows were tinted. I told him the windows were not tinted and he said, “oh they’re scheduled to be tinted tomorrow”, on a Sunday when we were informed Friday afternoon it would be ready to go Saturday morning by the salesman. I was never informed once of a protection package add on and the salesman told us “that’s how I make my money”, after the sales manager walked off. We were told either buy it or not we don’t care we have a line of people waiting to buy it if you don’t after I told him you lied to us. I asked for the sales managers supervisor and was told there was no one there. So we ended up having to pay $1600 over what we agreed on, they took off another $500 for tint that was not applied, and the only reason we did was because we couldn’t wait another 8-10 weeks to order one. If we were informed upfront about the protection package it would’ve been a completely different review, being lied to for a month and being told “I don’t want to sell you this car anyways because I won’t make any more money off of you for service because you live 3 hours away” is unacceptable. Our money was good enough when you took the deposit but it’s not once we don’t want to pay add ons that we were never informed on. Walking into a dealership with a check in hand for the vehicle we’ve been waiting excitedly for and having to spend over 2 hours haggling with liars is the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. They also tried to get us to fill out an ally financial sheet for a loan once I showed him we had a check. I told the salesman we are fine with our bank and apr% from our bank we do not want our credit ran again. He claimed to just fill it out anyways it’s to verify who we are. I told him to call our bank and verify our check, address, names, and everything right in front of him. He still claimed we had to fill out the sheet for fraud. This dealership is the fraud. We were taken advantage of with the deposit, the distance traveled, and the supply and demand. Reading the reviews on google was the reason we picked this dealership and I wish I would’ve just ordered one locally that was honest UPFRONT about a markup. I will never buy here again and I will make sure everyone I know knows of their shady business tactics. More
Tried to add $3000 non negotiable dealer warranty on to $9000 van. Seems rather dishonest but I guess people fall for the scam so they continue to do it. $9000 van. Seems rather dishonest but I guess people fall for the scam so they continue to do it. More
The experience thru the sale was fine. Of course, after we have purchased the car, all of the problems begin with the warranty and service and the response from this dealer is AWFUL. I have tried multiple we have purchased the car, all of the problems begin with the warranty and service and the response from this dealer is AWFUL. I have tried multiple times to talk with the person who manages this dealership, and he either does not care or is too much of a coward to talk to me. This is the reason that everyone hates the car-buying process and industry. More
