My experience with Team Gillman Honda North’s service department has been very disappointing. My 2018 Civic Si went in for Safety Recall 24‑027 (fuel pump motor replacement). Before this recall, the vehi department has been very disappointing. My 2018 Civic Si went in for Safety Recall 24‑027 (fuel pump motor replacement). Before this recall, the vehicle had no fuel‑system issues. Issues that began only after the recall work: • Immediate hard‑start/extended‑crank after the recall. The dealership later stated they had pinched an O‑ring during the repair. • Subsequent fuel odor; they replaced a seal. • Check engine light (P0172, system too rich) about a week after that repair. This condition did not exist prior to the recall and began only after repeated disassembly of the fuel system. Dealership diagnosis and pricing: They diagnosed “failed fuel injectors” and quoted $2,423 to replace all injectors, the fuel joint pipe, and seals. After I expressed strong disapproval, they reduced the price to $1,895. However, when I contacted the next Honda dealership in proximity (Honda of Tomball), they quoted ~$1,850 over the phone and then performed the job for that amount. So even after a 22% “discount,” Team Gillman was still more expensive than the true market rate. Additional concerns: • Their own technician acknowledged that contamination during the recall work could cause injector issues, but the dealership refused responsibility. • Their diagnostic process did not rule out a high‑pressure fuel pump issue, meaning their recommended repair might not address the root cause. • I also found unrelated workmanship issues (e.g., a seatbelt reinstalled incorrectly). Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this dealership for recall or fuel‑system work. More

I brought in my 2019 Honda HR-V (with under 55,00 service, which is why this experience with Team Gillman Honda North has been very disappointing. I brought in my 2019 Honda HR-V (with under 55,000 miles) due to an AC issue and was told the system had suffered “black death” contamination and required a full replacement, with an estimated cost exceeding $6,000 (and close to $9,000 with additional recommended services). Because the diagnosis and cost seemed unusually high, I sought a second opinion from an independent shop. Their inspection found no evidence of metal contamination and confirmed that the AC system itself is functional. Instead, they identified a likely issue with the computer/control system not properly signaling the cooling fans, which is a completely different and significantly less severe issue. Additionally, several other services recommended by the dealership (tires, drive belt, cabin filter, and fuel system service) were not identified as necessary during the second inspection — only the rear shocks were confirmed to need attention. I have attempted multiple times to follow up with the dealership, including phone calls and voicemails, but have not received any response. This lack of communication, combined with the major discrepancy in diagnosis, raises serious concerns about the accuracy and transparency of the service provided. I am currently working with Honda corporate to review this situation and hope it can be resolved appropriately. However, I felt it was important to share this experience so others can make informed decisions. More

I ran over a large screw that punctured my tire last night. I contacted Eric Schneider in the Service Dept. this morning to see if he had two tires. Eric quickly got back to me and let me know that they night. I contacted Eric Schneider in the Service Dept. this morning to see if he had two tires. Eric quickly got back to me and let me know that they had 4 and gave me an estimate for two different brands of equal cost and quality. I arrived at the dealership two hours later where he took my vehicle to replace all four tires. Not only did they replace my tires they went above and beyond and completed the multi-point inspection and recommended that my dirty engine and cabin filters be replaced. I couple of hours later I was ready to go with my new tires and filters. Eric Schneider is a valuable asset to the dealership. More
