SERVICE DEPARTMENT PRICE GOUGING I have been a customer with Temecula Hyundai since 2003, when I bought my first Sonata from them. I have no complaints about my car, but the Temecula I have been a customer with Temecula Hyundai since 2003, when I bought my first Sonata from them. I have no complaints about my car, but the Temecula Hyundai Service Department is another matter. I took my 2015 Sonata in for a 30,000-mile service on January 24, 2017. According to the invoice, these are the services they performed: ? Walk-around and multi-point inspection ? Checked the brakes (although they still screech) ? Checked and adjusted tire pressure ? Changed the oil (installed oil gasket and added oil) ? Installed air cleaner and air filter assembly ? Added wheel weights ? Poured in fuel system additive I was charged separately for the oil and parts (total of $143.95). However, my complaint is about the LABOR charge of $265.05 (which brought my total bill to $399.69). FOR ONE HOUR? What does Temecula Hyundai Service Department charge for an hour of labor? I wanted to know! So I called and spoke with two service department representatives, who assured me that the Service Department Manager, Sandra, would call me on Monday after she returned from vacation. She didn't call. I waited until Thursday afternoon before I called her. She was not willing to adjust the labor charge, nor make any attempt toward keeping a long-time customer. Instead, she stated that her service people were "very efficient" and could do the work in less time than it would normally take others. I've always known that dealerships charge more for their services than other service centers, and I've been willing to pay more. But $265.05 for one hour of service is just plain price gouging! More

Service Department Stinks First off let me say we do not like to complain and we give credit where it is due but not today...... Service department is a joke! Called because there's a noise in the front end of our 2015 Elantra, (we purchased at Heller Hyundai) My husband explained we have the extended warranty and asked if there was a charge to look at it and determine what the issue was, Collin told him to bring it in and they will check it out, my husband asked again, is there a charge, the subject was changed again by asking when a good time for the appointment would be, the appointment was set and my husband asked again about a fee, that if there was, we would have to wait as he didn't get paid until next Friday, and he again was told to just bring it in for the appointment. We took it in this morning to find out that we had to pay a $130.00 fee for them to look at it. We were a little confused as this was completely ignored on the phone when we called to inquire about brining it in. The guy that checked us in was not Collin , but he did walk in as my husband was talking to the other guy, and said nothing as he heard his name mentioned. The one that checked is in was telling us that even though we have the warranty we still have to pay that $130.00, but if they found any faulty issues in the car, we would get that back and everything would be covered under warranty. Now Collin speaks up and backs this colleague up. My husband tells them we can't afford that $130.00 today and wished we would have known because we made special arrangements and time off work to bring it in, and asked that our car be brought back up so we can leave. We are waiting outside, and our car comes whipping around the corner, a little faster than you would think you should drive in a dealer parking lot, and Collin hands over the keys, my husband asked why he did not inform him and lead him to believe that there was no charge for checking out the car and his response was, I wouldn't have said that. He stood there and just stared down as my husband (shorter than he was) tried to talk to him... Very cocky and snappy with his tone of voice like we were nothing. We left at this point. I have seen reviews on Yelp and a couple on here about Collins attitude, so I know we are not the only ones who have had issues. Is there a reason that he could not have mentioned the $130.00 charge over the phone?? Called and asked for a manager and was told they were in a meeting and would call us back. They did and surprisingly quickly, talked to service manager Sandra, her only reply, was she had already talked to the service department before she called us back and pretty much agreed with their side of the story, that every dealer charges $130.00, siding with him that he would have never led us to believe otherwise. My husband also told her he wasn't happy about how he drove our car around the corner, and her response was, I will check our cameras and speak to the guys again. So I'm sure nothing will become of this matter even though like I stated above there have been other complaints about the guy in question, just not right that someone can give you information or in this case, lack of information and then treat you like you are nothing when you get upset and call them out on it. More
