Thayer Ford

My fiance and I found a great used Ford Focus at this dealership and called the dealer to say that we would like to purchase it. We agreed to come in two days later to sign the papers. The next day, though, we received a call from the dealership saying that the price of the car had suddenly increased $1,000. When we asked why this had happened, we were told that it was now "Focus season" and that the model was more in demand. We went directly to the dealership to discuss this sudden change in cost. When we arrived, we were shocked to see that the Ford Focus in which we were interested was the only one to have its price changed. The other two Focuses (sitting right next to "our" Focus) were still the same price as before. We were very offended that the dealership was so blatantly trying to get extra money out of us. We were even more offended when they offered to drop the price $700 as a "favor" to us- they actually expected us to pay $300 more than what we had originaly agreed upon and then be GRATEFUL to them! I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. This type of shady dealing is just wrong. We ended up buying an identical Focus from another dealership in town for the price originally quoted at Thayer. Please think twice before going here. If you do decide to shop Thayer, at least keep in mind that they are not above changing the price after they think you are "hooked" in hopes of getting more money out of you. More
