Beware the warranty! My 80 year old father and I evacuated for the hurricane in Sept 2017. We left my car behind because Dad loves his truck and a car is just a car. His My 80 year old father and I evacuated for the hurricane in Sept 2017. We left my car behind because Dad loves his truck and a car is just a car. His 2001 Chevrolet Silverado has less than 70,000 miles on it because he babies it so. On the way home the transmission went out. We took it to Wes Haney Chevrolet in Live Oak, Florida because it was the closest Chevrolet “certified service” dealer to where we were. Rented a car and went home. On the 21st of Sept I drove hours back to get his truck. 491 miles on the odometer later, the driveway is covered in pepto bismal pink fluid. Had the truck towed to Tom Gibbs Chevrolet in Palm Coast, Florida. The transmission was hooked up to the radiator and vice versa. Oops. No big deal. It’s warranty, right? Fix it. Five Mondays later I go to get the truck. Surprise, they didn’t replace the radiator. They just flushed it. Needless to say the truck barely made it home. Had another mechanic look at it and there is still antifreeze in the transmission. Now Wes Haney won’t fix it because Tom Gibbs touched it last. Tom Gibbs won’t fix it because Wes Hany messed it up first. I’m sure in addition my 80 year old father will have to replace the water pump and radiator too. Out $2700. Have a lovely black and chrome yard ornament that I have to pay insurance on every month and no one at either dealer cares. Please be aware that “certified service” only means if they want to take care of it. Am placing this on every Chevrolet dealer website I can find to let people know that the warranty is only good at the independent dealer that does the work originally no matter what the receipt says. YES, THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was coming back from Daytona Beach on I-95 at night when my engine light came on. I was able to get to Flagler Beach without a problem. I looked on- I was coming back from Daytona Beach on I-95 at night when my engine light came on. I was able to get to Flagler Beach without a problem. I looked on-line to schedule a service appointment and the first appointment available was on Wednesday, December 27th at 11:00 AM. That was five days from now. I made the decision to drive to Gibbs Chevrolet the next morning at 7:30 AM so I could talk to a tech about my car. Daniel Gauthier said hello and I told him what had happened the previous night. I asked if he could have a service tech look at my car without an appointment. He said that he would be able to that. I know how busy this time of year is and I am glad that I got there early. I was there before the techs were. Daniel asked me if I needed a ride home and I told him that I would wait. My car is going to need 2 coil packs and 6 plugs. I will be returning to Giggs Chevrolet for this work to be done . A business is only as good as its reputation and I am giving Daniel and the dealership high marks. More

At that time, the problem was diagnose On 12/29/2015 I had my 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer towed to the dealership with a problem shifting in to gear. At that time, the problem was diagnosed to be a transmission shift cable which was replaced for twice the charge once completed when checking with two other repair shops. After I picked up the car I noticed a grinding noise coming from the vehicle. This noise could have been reported by the service tech. , but was ignored.. After I called the service writer, he suggested I drive 30 miles back to the dealership and have the noise inspected. The following day I was informed that the problem was in the transmission and front breaks needed to be replaced. The cost would have been roughly $4000.00..... I declined proceeding with the repairs and brought the vehicle to a transmission repair facility and after a lengthy inspection determined that the problem was not in the transmission, but in the brakes. Brakes and bearings were replaced for $788.00.... not the $4000.00 quoted by Tom Gibbs I plan on alerting not only my friends , but others on my face book page and, as a retired Army Officer, others in a monthly publication produced by the military, the lack of professionalism and fair dealing on the part of Tom Gibbs Chevrolet. worst service ever Took truck to them 4 times in 6 months to fix the transmission. Each time they blamed something else as the reason for it tearing up. Customer servi Took truck to them 4 times in 6 months to fix the transmission. Each time they blamed something else as the reason for it tearing up. Customer service was horrible. $6.5k to fix a Chevy transmission, after 4 tries. Hopefully they got it right this time, but past action predicts future results....i doubt it. Definitely wouldnt take my truck back. More

After waiting two hours, I asked about the progress of my work. Service rep, Gibbs, Jr. replied with an exasperated sigh and, "I don't know.. they're working on it." I was never offered a ride on the shuttle work. Service rep, Gibbs, Jr. replied with an exasperated sigh and, "I don't know.. they're working on it." I was never offered a ride on the shuttle service, which is the best kept secret of the dealership. I noticed two women who came in later asking to be given a ride while their service was done which was met with a loud, "Um..." and refusal by Jr. Waited for three hours. Unprofessional treatment. I drove over 100 miles 1-way to try Tom Gibbs service, to fix a problem with tires/TMPS and to get an oil change. Took my wife along. While there every service manager said hello and asked how they coul to fix a problem with tires/TMPS and to get an oil change. Took my wife along. While there every service manager said hello and asked how they could help. I had an appt with them and they did not make me wait;they started working on my truck immediately. I met the Service manager, Tom, and he was very helpful with pricing and obtaining new TMPS. He was like a friend helping me. Anyway, the price was very good on services (much less than my local dealer)the waiting area was comfortable with plenty of magazines, a nice TV, and I think the internet. I have spoken several times with Tom Gibbs and found he and his staff to be friendly, kind and honest. They are not pushy sales people and the experience was pleasant. This is the best Chevrolet Dealer I have used and I have been using Chevrolet and GM dealers for over 20 years in FL, VA, & TN.... TOM GIBBS is the best Chevrolet Dealer! More
