I had an A/c problem. I had thought the compressor had gone bad ( the car was 20 years old) and was told I was correct. They offered to replace the compressor with a Niss I had thought the compressor had gone bad ( the car was 20 years old) and was told I was correct. They offered to replace the compressor with a Nissan part ( over $1200 and a one year warranty ) or an Autozone part ( $500 with a warranty estimated to be 2-5 years or possibly lifetime . ) With those two choices I opted for the Autozone compressor and did ask they not discard the old factory compressor but return to me after completion. The work was completed in 48 hours . As I drove away I realized they failed to return my used compressor to me . I also realized I had no receipt from Autozone and no idea of how long the part was really warranted for. The total bill came to a bit more than $1200. I was prepared for this but did expect my old compressor to be returned and some way to know about the warranty on the new compressor. More
