I was out comparison shopping at all the Toyota dealerships in my area. I did a considerable amount of study on consumer reports, printed out all my charts and papers to bring with me to write dow dealerships in my area. I did a considerable amount of study on consumer reports, printed out all my charts and papers to bring with me to write down all the extra costs. I was immediately surrpouded by salesmen and there was no one else in the showroom. I wrote down all their costs and gave a price $1,500 less than the MSRP. The sales guy was a real jerk and asked me 'why did my husband send me out to negotiate a car deal"? Is it any of his busines, really? what an insult! Then he came down a bit more but refused to come down $500 more which would have sealed the deal for me. I was willing to give him cash on the table if he went down $500 more. He went to talk to his manager a few times and left me sitting at the table, to say that they couldn't do it. So they let me walk out the door. When they talked to me on the phone they called me a liar, that I lied about having another price from another dealership..is it any of their business?..but to call me a liar and still want me to give them MY business? DON'T EVER GO HERE IF YOU WANT RESPEST, BECAUSE YOU WON'T GET ANY! More
I have been going to Towne Toyota for years and would recommend the dealership for their courtesy to customers, knowledge of the cars and ability to answer all my financing concerns. The staff is very at recommend the dealership for their courtesy to customers, knowledge of the cars and ability to answer all my financing concerns. The staff is very attentive to the needs of their customers. I moved through the car buying process quickly and efficiently. Spencer was able to install all of my information in my new Highlander with ease. Everything was done for me - from handling the change in my car insurance to ordering me brand new rubber mats, I didn't have to think of anything. They took care of it all! Kudos to them for making my car shopping experience thoroughly enjoyable! More
I received a very specific quote using the Consumer Report Build & Buy program. I received a reply from this dealer within 1 hour with the exact new car info that I requested with a $ amount that they Report Build & Buy program. I received a reply from this dealer within 1 hour with the exact new car info that I requested with a $ amount that they say is guaranteed. I called and spoke with the sales rep that replied to me just to confirm the details. I was assured that the car that was quoted was available. The next business day I drove over 1 hour to find out that the car wasn't available and they tried to sell me a different car at a higher price. I am also in the process of submitting a complaint with Consumer report. Be careful of the bait and switch. More
Our 2002 Highlander, with only 76,000 miles, began spewing blueish smoke out the exhaust in January. We took it to Towne toyota for service. When we brought it in, the service manager complimented us o spewing blueish smoke out the exhaust in January. We took it to Towne toyota for service. When we brought it in, the service manager complimented us on what great condition it was in. Their sales dept. immediately started calling us asking if we waned to trade it in. They'd give us top dollar as it had such low mileage. After a few days, they called to say it was a leaky valve and we should replace them all and as long as they had the engine apart, it would be wise to also replace the timing belt, battery (original), water pump and replace 2 tires and have the wheels aligned. As our car had low mileage and we hoped to keep it another 5 years, we decided it would be worth the investment. $3700 later, we picked up the car only to have even more blueish smoke spew from the exhaust when we started the car. It was brought to the attention of Eric, our assigned service "professional". He stated it was probably just excess oil burning off from all the repair work. We drove the car home. Several days later it was spewing even more blueish smoke than when we had first taken it to Towne. We returned to the service dept. again. They assured us the problem would be resolved. They kept the car for an additional 19 days! We picked the car up and finally no smoke, however, on our drive home, as we exited the highway, we noticed a jerking when accelerating. We called the service dept. immediately upon arriving home. They did not return our call. A few days later, we reached out to them again. They said we should give it a few days. The car was now not shifting properly-never a problem before. We returned to the service dept yet again. They replaced a PCV valve, bank sensor and mass air flow sensor and advised us that they felt the transmission was shot. They could get us a used transmission with 96000 miles on it! and install it for another $3500!!! After having the car for 5 months-They totally screwed up our transmission and now wanted us to pay to get it replaced! We took the car home, barely made it there. Our perfectly good car worth $11,000 as a trade-in in January (their quote) is now a car that we can't drive or sell! We are filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs and Toyota Headquarters. NEVER take a car to Towne Toyota for service unless you want your perfectly good car trashed! More
I was unpleasantly forced into the car buying market when my car became victim to last month’s flood while I was away on vacation. To my dismay, my very nice, fairly new, very personal, and fully paid car w my car became victim to last month’s flood while I was away on vacation. To my dismay, my very nice, fairly new, very personal, and fully paid car was unsalvageable. Amazingly, even though it was in water for days, it started with just a battery jumpstart. This was affirmation of Toyota’s quality so I decided, unwillingly, to purchase another Highlander. The staff at Towne Toyota, from the minute you enter the door, was very friendly and family oriented. I appreciated the politeness of the staff holding the door open as you enter, a manner so many times forgotten. The front desk was very receptive and very efficient in locating the appropriate personnel to suit my needs; which was important especially having my two young and very active children with me. I am not the techno savvy person, and my previous car was equipped with just the right electronics with which I was comfortable. You could only imagine my anxiety upon discovering that the standard vehicles of today are equipped with space aged computer techno stuff of tomorrow. I was especially grateful that Solomon Aizi, the general manager, was exceptionally helpful in ensuring that I was comfortable with my new vehicle and all its equipment. He took time in explaining all the extras it had and ensured that his staff took the time to program all the new gadgets with which my vehicle was equipped. The finance manager, Al Yousfef, was very patient and clear in explaining the financial obligations for the vehicle’s down payment, financing charges, registration, plates and monthly payment for my new car. He and the floor sales person were flexible and so very patient while preparing the necessary paperwork in the children’s play area. They even allowed me to use their cellular devices so that I may watch my children comfortably while I made arrangements insuring the vehicle so that I may drive it home the same day. Even after the purchase was complete, Towne Toyota even took the time to drive with me to return my rental at the local Enterprise. This action, to me, represented that the staff were not just interested in selling a car; they were interested in providing the service of loyalty to their customers. I am happy to be part of the Towne Toyota family, where the “e” truly stands for extra. More
Saw an ad online for a 2007 prius, called in Friday noon, internet manager David Strasant told me to come down to look at the car, so I drove there that afternoon. Greeted with Spencer, waited 20 minutes, he internet manager David Strasant told me to come down to look at the car, so I drove there that afternoon. Greeted with Spencer, waited 20 minutes, he came back telling me the car was in the detail shop. That the internet manager was fixing the internet "BS". So I was upset that I went for nothing. I called Spencer 3 times on Monday, he kept delaying for varies reasons and never called back. Then, I called again on Tuesday, reached another salesperson on the phone, he told me the car won't be back from the bodyshop until Friday. Then I got an email from michael, he told me via email "However, please understand that the price that was advertised was to be an as is price without the body work. I have repriced the vehicle accordingly due the additional expense of reconditioning." So the online price is not the F**king selling price. I wish I read the reviews before even dealt with them. 20th century sale tricks. Bought my Camry LE from there with certified pre-owned warrenty ($1500 Extra). Their staff promised car will be detailed, gas filled, oil changed. Nothing was done to car. Car pur with certified pre-owned warrenty ($1500 Extra). Their staff promised car will be detailed, gas filled, oil changed. Nothing was done to car. Car purchase took all day. Back and forth negotiation with manager even though price was set during online chat with internet sales person Robert Stelling. Upon visit of dealer ship whole negotiation process started again. Totals were mis-represented and blamed on typing errors. Sneaked unknown charges in the sales contract even after the promise to take them out and then blamed on computer. When pointed out that my totals are diffrent than theirs, They quickly blamed it on computers again however, i could clearly see that it's their routine practice and they are doing that on purpose to confuse the buyer and distract buyer's attention from negotiation process and it did worked very well. Every time sales person return back with a better deal after "talking" to manager, He will eliminate the charge in dispute but sneak another one in there. After the contract was signed, their attitude changed dramaticaly. Sales people disappeared with other clients. And service department asked for $400 if we want car cleaned. There were no mats in the car and car had minimum gas. I did test drove the car and during my test drive was assured that Mats, detailing etc will be done. Did not honor pre-certified warrenty when reported that stearing wheel is shaking at 80 miles per hour. This was for 2007 Camry LE, 35000 miles, $16000. Horrible experience. I hope nothing goes wrong with the car since i dont wanna deal with them anymore. More
Like any other new car dealership, they tried to play some tricks, but at least it was upfront and they were nice about it. I could have bought the car there but eventually went to Toyota of Morristown b some tricks, but at least it was upfront and they were nice about it. I could have bought the car there but eventually went to Toyota of Morristown because they had the color I wanted on an Highlander. Price was negotiated via AAA system, so it was easier to begin with. More
I came in looking at an online sale of a '09 Ford Focus, an out of dealership car. They refused to negotiate at all. When my original financing options closed out I had to retrieve my 2,000 deposit. This is an out of dealership car. They refused to negotiate at all. When my original financing options closed out I had to retrieve my 2,000 deposit. This is when the whole thing fell apart. It's been a week now and they keep saying they put in my refund, but it is no where to be seen. Very rude sales people I just want my money back! DO NOT GO HERE! More
Just bought a 2010 4runner from Towne Toyota on 09/20/2010. Through the sales process my time was not wasted and no games were played. Everything was straight forward, quick and efficient. I maybe 09/20/2010. Through the sales process my time was not wasted and no games were played. Everything was straight forward, quick and efficient. I maybe spent a two hours through the whole process. Frank Giambattista and Rich his sales manager are who you should see hands down and ask for Frank G as soon as you walk in the door. Frank and Rich were very helpful and bent over backwards to to satisfy. I have bought several cars/trucks and this has been my best experience yet. My accessories needed to be ordered and they arrived the next day. What more can I say great experience=happy customer!!!! More
