We worked with George and John. Fast friendly hassle free service. We knew what we wanted, they called the minute it came in. Home with a new car in under 2 hours! Fast friendly hassle free service. Purchasing a car online from Toyota Foxlake proved to be a very painless process. We traded in an existing Toyota and picked up our new car in person. Even though we were 5 1/2 hours away from the dealershi a very painless process. We traded in an existing Toyota and picked up our new car in person. Shane did a great job on the financial end and made everything understandable and run smoothly He was also very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. Highly recommended this dealership. More
I had a great experience buying a new car here. Great service, friendly people, and a good deal. I had to drive over an hour to get here from Chicago, but it was worth it. Leonides Garcia - Sales Manager at Toyota of Fox Lake - is a con artist in every sense of the word. He is the epitome of what everyone despises about car dealerships. He preys on the desperate and weak, an is a con artist in every sense of the word. He is the epitome of what everyone despises about car dealerships. He preys on the desperate and weak, and is only interested in forcing customers to pay $5K-$10K more than they should for a vehicle. If you value your money, do not let Leonides Garcia steal it from you at Toyota of Fox Lake. After shopping around at 6 different dealerships like smart consumers do, I decided to go against my better judgement, ignore all of the red flags, and let Toyota of Fox Lake try and sell us a vehicle. Leonides Garcia failed miserably and shamefully. Kyle Kiemle was an excellent salesperson throughout the entire process. He was able to locate and land the exact vehicle we wanted via dealer trade. When that vehicle arrived at Toyota of Fox Lake, I went in for the final test drive/inspection and we were ready to purchase it. Then I met Leonides Garcia. Not only was Leonides Garcia the most unprofessional “manager” I’ve ever met, but his rude and obnoxious attitude single-handedly blew the sale. I left in a state of confusion about how horrendous his customer service was. Then, the next day, he called us to make a deal. I asked if he matched pricing from other dealerships. He said they did, so I gave him the numbers to match. He very rudely mumbled something and hung up on us. My wife and I just laughed it off, knowing we don’t need Toyota of Fox Lake to purchase our vehicle. If you’re looking to purchase a vehicle at a fair price, steer clear of Toyota of Fox Lake. Leonides Garcia hates smart, informed consumers like us. He ultimately blew an easy sale because we weren’t willing to be duped into paying for the extremely excessive fees and “mandatory” add-ons that are included with every vehicle purchased from Toyota of Fox Lake. Do your research, people. You can do way better than this old-school dealership that uses all of the old-school methods to squeeze thousands of extra dollars out of every vehicle sale. Listen, nobody needs paint/fabric protection, rust-proofing, window etching, or any of the other useless add-ons and magical unicorn fees that Leonides Garcia and/or the Finance/Business Manager will force on you. And most importantly, no “sale price” or vehicle sale should ever be contingent on the customer paying thousands of dollars for these useless add-ons and bogus fees. This is a scam that shady dealerships have been using for decades. Any reputable dealer will work with you on pricing, not force you to pay for ridiculous add-ons and outrageous fees. A reputable dealer will also match an out-the-door price you’ve received from another dealer. Toyota of Fox Lake is definitely not a reputable dealer, especially with Leonides Garcia behind the wheel. You might think their prices are competitive, until you’re in the end game and being forced to spend an extra $5K-$10K on top of their “sale price”. Do not fall victim to Toyota of Fox Lake. This review was created as a PSA to inform less knowledgeable consumers and prevent them from being scammed by Toyota of Fox Lake. Quite honestly, what they’re doing should be illegal, and hopefully it will be someday soon. We’ll see what Kwame Raoul - Attorney General of Illinois - thinks about their shady markups and bait-and-switch business practices, as all of this info has been sent to their office. More
"You're NOT going to Like Buying a Car this Way" READ THIS REVIEW CAREFULLY. Dec 28th 2023: I went to this Dealership to buy the desired 2024 Camry Hybrid in their lot. Like all dealer sales folks, A THIS REVIEW CAREFULLY. Dec 28th 2023: I went to this Dealership to buy the desired 2024 Camry Hybrid in their lot. Like all dealer sales folks, Abdul brought all numbers from his Manager which included the marked up "Fees" & "Optional Accessories" totaling 1000s of dollars. I asked them to remove the Fees and marked up charges. After some back and forth, the Manager comes up and at first, he was polite, but true colors do show up when you press them on the numbers you know make sense to you as a customer (if you did all the research of course). The Sales Manager said things like "I don't know where you are getting the numbers from" in a bad tone. After a lot of back and forth with him, we couldn't get to the deal and the Manager dismissed me, I was like Okay and then walked out of the Dealership. Dec 29th: Via phone, I give the sales person John Ippolito the Price and trade in value of my car I am interested in, based on online research. After much back and forth, the Manager tells me that the mentioned deal is not happening as I am bringing unrealistic numbers or something. Dec 30th Morning: Manager calls me again in the morning, and with my 6 month old being sick (myself first time parent) my attention is divided between holding the baby and dealing over phone. I ask him to contact me later, but he still went back and forth for a couple minutes over the deal, he said its not happening "not in a 100 years". Dec 30th around 5 pm: Manager calls me again with a sense of urgency and gives me the "Final numbers". I reach the dealership at 6:30 pm. He increased the trade in value of my old car but keeps the price of the new car still high. I ask him to lower the amount financed. He says its not happening and I walk out of the dealership the Second Time. At the Parking Lot before leaving, Abdul asks me to wait, goes to his Manager and brings the numbers, I told Abdul why does the Deal have to be in A PARKING LOT and not inside. He asks me to come in, I make the Deal and get the Car finally late night. In Summation, the car buying experience was not at all enjoyable, the Car itself is awesome! After 3 days of back and forth, I got an okayish deal, which I am happy with. Sales Manager indeed "bent over backwards" and "tried his best" to make this a frustrating experience. Abdul also was not straightforward with me a couple times during the deal, especially about the "Fees", but I guess that's part of the Sales life. In the end it was Abdul thru whom I felt okay making the deal with. Also, no one asked me to hit the "GONG" which is for customers who make the deal. It seemed to me the Gong is for the customers taken much advantage of. If you end up making a deal and you hit the Gong...then...Good Luck! To the customers: Keep this dealership as an option only for a good deal, be prepared to be disrespected if you've done your due diligence, which you should do anyway before you get into any dealership. To the Dealership: Manager has gone "above and beyond" and "bent over backwards" into being impolite during Negotiations. Please ask him to treat your Better-Informed Customers the same way you would treat the customers who play the Gong! Abdul was not the best but still much better to deal with! More
