I purchased a 2023 Tacoma from Toyota of Surprise that experienced a serious safety-related malfunction in June 2025 involving braking, vehicle stability control, and the pre-collision system. The vehicle experienced a serious safety-related malfunction in June 2025 involving braking, vehicle stability control, and the pre-collision system. The vehicle is under warranty and not an older or high-mileage vehicle. Warning messages appeared stating “Check Vehicle Stability Control System” and “Pre-Collision System Malfunction – See Dealer,” and the vehicle could not be safely controlled under braking input. The vehicle was towed to Toyota of Surprise and remains there. Despite the severity of the safety issue, no diagnostic evaluation or repair was authorized. I was advised that Toyota corporate controlled authorization and that the dealership was instructed not to proceed. On December 17, 2025, I was contacted and told to pick up the vehicle despite it remaining undiagnosed, unrepaired, and still displaying active safety warnings directing the driver to see the dealer. No loaner vehicle or alternate transportation was offered during this time, and no documentation or assurance was provided indicating the vehicle was safe to operate. I am disappointed that no path forward—paid or warranty—was offered to address a vehicle presenting unresolved safety system failures. I have since pursued resolution through formal consumer protection channels and hope this dealership improves how serious safety concerns are handled. More

When I got too far away to realize it and return to the dealership the same day I bought my Tacoma truck, it was pointed out to me that the letter T on TACOMA displayed on the tailgate, was about to fall o dealership the same day I bought my Tacoma truck, it was pointed out to me that the letter T on TACOMA displayed on the tailgate, was about to fall off. Why was that not noticed when they had it washed before I took it? Went to a Toyota dealership near my location and they said they could not do a warranty fix because Surprise Toyota used a 3rd party for lettering. I had to buy double sided tape and fix myself. Plus I was lead to believe that if I paid off the entire amount of my loan with first payment then I would not be charged any extra. This is incorrect because you start paying interest day one and I probably should have known better. I could have written a check 48 hours later and saved myself $95 in interest. No doubt whatsoever, because I asked at least 3 times, that if I paid off in full there would not be anything extra to pay. Good thing I checked loan agreement from Bank of America in the mail. And having been there the day before and given all the information required from me, I found it extremely annoying to have to wait 1.5 hours the following day to finalize and drive off the lot. I will say that all the folks at the dealership were friendly. More
