I went to the dealership to test drive and purchase a certified used Toyota on August 22nd 2020. The car looked good and test drive went well so I proceeded with the purchase. I should have walked away after they increased the advertised price by adding on fees for pinstripes and LoJack. They did remove those fees so I bought the car. They informed me that the DMV in NJ was backed up and it would take several months to get my title back and registration. This was a cash purchase so I would be getting the completed title back. They told me to expect the title to come back in December and not to worry about my temporary registration tags that would expire in September. Two weeks after purchasing the car my brakes started squeaking badly when going in reverse. I took the car to my local mechanic who told me the dealership replaced the rear pads but not the rear rotors. The rotors had grooves and would need to be replaced. I replaced the rear rotors and pads at a cost of $200. As of December I still did not receive the title. I started calling the dealership in January and every conversation was I’m sorry for the delay we are working on it and it should be in next week. I talked to the sales manager, the salesman and others in the company multiple times. Everyone gave me the same story. As of the writing of this message it is March. It has been 7 months since I purchased the car and I still don’t have title and registration. UPDATE. 3/16/21. The dealership has delivered the title and registration to me. Management was very apologetic and accommodating to make up for the delay. More
