We didn’t find any record of ever servicing this vehicle during your ownership of the 70,000 miles. Part of our regular service would have included checking to see if you wanted the automatic update feature activated. Since it was never updated, it will take approximately one to two hours to update the system. The Sync system is a computer and must be updated by the user just like all computer systems or your cell phone. Since none of the computer updates were done the system would not continue to be compatible with the phone or other features you are using. The extended warranty specifically says that Sync system updates are considered maintenance and not covered by the extended warranty and are the responsibility of the owner. Ford Motor Company nor the extended warranty will pay us to update your system but if you feel we should update it at our expense please contact me so we can discuss. My direct number is 903-525-0101. Thanks Dave Capps

Dave I really appreciate your response, would have been better if the employee had you speak to me instead of hanging up on me. The problem could be resolved. My problem is I have tried many times to update it. For several months. Sync isnt accepting the update. Your parts guy said to get a bigger flash drive 64 gig. I did that downloaded the software onto it it still does not fix it. I still show the outdated software. If it were an easy fix I would never have brought it to you. As for maintenance I ask for my car to be checked out. I was told unless I had a problem with my car no need to bring it in because y’all don’t do routine maintenance of just checking it out. So no other way of u being able to ask me if I wanted it updated. My number is 903-360-3962 if you want to resolve this issue. Again thank you for responding.

Your 2010 F150 with 189,000 miles was brought to James Williams in our service department. We were informed that the truck had been sitting for approximately 4 years. Previous to the truck arriving at our shop your husband had been working on it and had replaced numerous parts in an effort to get it into running condition. Our Service Manager and Shop Foreman were very upfront with the diagnostics costs that would be necessary just to establish a base line of what would be needed to get it to run. The initial diagnosis indicated that the catalytic converters were plugged, not uncommon with a truck that age and mileage, you elected to pick it up from our shop and have the converters replaced elsewhere. The oil dipstick indicated an overfill situation. Our technician drained the excess oil and then refilled a quart to get it at the correct level. We did not do an oil or oil filter change. After the catalytic converters were replaced the truck came back to us on a wrecker. The fuel injectors were dumping fuel past the pistons into the crankcase causing the oil overfill situation. The only way to properly repair the vehicle is with a remanufactured engine or extensive major mechanical repairs. I’m not exactly sure what we could have done differently.

Ok well now it's a "2011" ford f150 with 85,000 miles with a remanufactured engine and transmission because no one could tell us that to begin with but good to know. I've said all I had to say
