Just as I prepared to ask about the delay, service writer came out to apologize, saying all of their systems had gone down causing the delay and that there would be no charge for the inspection. Not a great $$ cost for the dealership but such a fine gesture to retain a return customer (this location and also Van Bortel Subaru in Victor, NY) and to prompt me to share the story w/ friends. Everything went as scheduled for my dealer recall appt. It makes a difference as to whether the consumer can just wait for the repair (which is what I did) or they have to get a loaner for the day. More
