The techs and service team that handle my vehicles are awesome and always make me leave happy and feeling safe! It's worth the hour drive every time. Beware of deceptive business practices! I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Vandergriff Hyundai. I purchased a vehicle in early March 2025, put down a $3,000 I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Vandergriff Hyundai. I purchased a vehicle in early March 2025, put down a $3,000 down payment, and was fully approved through financing. Over a month later, the lender backed out of the deal (not my fault), and I was forced to return the vehicle to the dealership. I was initially told I’d receive my full down payment back, but Vandergriff Hyundai management (used and general sales managers) then informed me they were withholding over $400 due to “mileage.” There was nothing in the contract stating they could legally do this, especially when the deal was canceled by the lender—not by me. When I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Vandergriff Hyundai doubled down and falsely claimed there was damage to the vehicle, citing a “splash shield” issue. This was not true—the splash shield was loose and was removed by the dealership themselves after I notified them of it during my ownership. At no point was this ever mentioned as damage until I challenged their decision to withhold my money. Only after I pushed back and exposed their lies on the BBB did they finally refund the remaining amount of my down payment. This whole experience felt shady and dishonest. I expected professionalism and transparency but was instead met with deceptive tactics, false claims, and a lack of accountability. I would strongly urge anyone considering buying a car here to shop elsewhere. This dealer violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices act and several other consumer laws of Texas with these business practices. More
