I took my car to the dealership because of white smoke coming from the exhaust pipes. They gave me a diagnosis for repair along with other suggestions like tires, filters etc. The engine and other thongs coming from the exhaust pipes. I agreed to pay for the repair along with an oil change and oil booster. The car was supposed to be ready in a week and the repair total would be $1177.00. A week past so I called and was told the part took longer than expected to arrive but to check back in a couple of days and my car should be ready. The next call I made, I found out that the service was completed but my car was still smoking and they believe it was the turbo They then told me that since they put a new engine in my car two years prior that Hyundai may pay for the repair of the turbo since the engine is still under warranty. Long story short my car was in that shop for 1 month and 4 days. Hyundai declined to cover the turbo repair, I paid the entire $1177.00 and left the dealership with my car still smoking like it was on fire. During this entire dilemma, I feel like a major mistake was made with the diagnosis and they were covering up for their own error yet they made me the customer pay for it. My car is sitting in my driveway not drivable. What's really disgusting to me is instead of putting the customer first, admitting the error and making sure tht I leave there satisfied with my car service, they expected me to pay over $2,000 for another repair that was the real problem from the beginning. I emailed rrios@vandergriffsales.com two days before I even picked up my car with hopes that I could get some help but I have not received an answer. It's like going to a restaurant and paying for a steak dinner but they bring you a fish plate instead. They then recognize the error but expect you to pay for both dinners....doesn't make sense.
