I am a 60 year old woman and I went in with my son 22 to buy him a car for college. We saw the price online and when we called they said the car was in their shop being repaired but we could come the next d buy him a car for college. We saw the price online and when we called they said the car was in their shop being repaired but we could come the next day. We thought this was good as it will be in good shape when we get it. When we went in the next day the price had changed on the car. My son had taken a picture of the price the day before or we would have had to pay more. We bought the car and basically parked it as he college had not started. He drove LESS THAN 500 miles before the engine light came on, there is oil on the driveway, and my son said a lot of antifreeze is coming out. It needs a catalytic converter, coolant hoses and an oil pan gasket among other things. The Volkswagon service department took in the car for repairs three times and each time the check engine light came on before I reached home. They presented me with $6000.00 worth of bills for repairs and told me they replaced the catalytic converter at no charge but couldn't get the light off. In the end the salesman told me the LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD IS OKAY and not to take it anywhere because it was fine. I immediately took it to another dealer who told me both catalytic converters are bad. WHY ARE THEY SELLING CARS NEEDING $6000 WORTH OF REPAIRS. I am now in the hole another $2000.00. I've checked and they only have 1 certified vehicle on the lot as of 10/7/2022 which means all the rest of their cars are as is. BEWARE PLEASE. More
