Tom and everyone else at the West County Motor Company have absolutely figured out what "right" looks like in the auto sales business. We were in town from from our home town (90 minutes away) on a Saturday afternoon when we decided to take a look at a used Saab we had seen on the dealership's website. We called about 20 minutes before arriving at the dealership, and expected we'd have to take our chances. We were greeted by name as we walked in the door, and you'd have thought they'd had days to prepare for our visit! The car was being prepared for our test drive, and we had a great informal chat with Tom while we waited. The car was in great shape, there was no hard sell (no "sell" at all - admittedly, the Saabs and Volvos kind of sell themselves)... we finished our test drive and decided to purchase on our drive back to the dealership. We expected we'd have to make arrangements to come back a few days later to take delivery, but were able to drive our new car home with us! This was one of the two best car buying experiences I've had in more than 15 transactions over the past 30+ years - thanks to Tom and all the other great folks at West County Motor Company! More

If so, you are like us in all of our previous buying experiences. That is until we met Jim Carpenter at West County Volvo. Jim is very patient and does not rush your decision. He makes you feel at ease. There is was no game playing with Jim ---or at the dealership as a whole. They did not “hold our trade in keys hostage”, or spend extended periods in the back room “negotiating with his manager.” The F&I manager did not push programs that we did not need (even though that is a big money maker.) We left feeling very relaxed, pleased with the car and the deal we made…we ever felt like we had enough time and money left for a steak at Tuckers! During the final process of providing just the right vehicle for us Jim had a beautiful gift of modulating his voice re positive family situations that helped keep you relaxed and enjoying the experience. He does not push but gives a reasonable explanation of available vehicles and leaves the remaining reasoning and conclusion up to you without you feeling pressured to meet his own agenda. After the sale was completed, and the car paid for, he offered to spend time with us explaining some of the special features of the car. More

No haggling, no hassle, no sales gimmicks – buying a car from Tom is the way it should be… a pain free experience. If you need service, ask for anyone in the service department. The department performs both timely and quality work, and the sales manager will always offer a loaner car to make the transition easier for the client.
