I don't mind to admit our credit isn't the greatest, but we ended up spending approximately seven hours at the car lot. We were just happy finally have a newer car, that wouldn't give us issues, and would allow us to travel more. Side note; Dennis lead us to believe it was required to do auto-deduct every two weeks, instead of monthly, and that the 2 year 24,000 warranty was included. Neither were true! Fast-forward two days to 06/04/2020. I'm driving to work. I get on to the on-ramp from 394 on to 11E, the car loses power on the ramp. My heart sinks in to my stomach. I had just spend $17,000 on a car, that broke down after two days. I got it on to 11E, parked on the shoulder, and turned the vehicle off. I waited 5 minutes, praying that it was a fluke, that I hadn't been taken for a ride by the dealership. I turned the car on, only to be disappointed, because the car still had no power ( wouldn't go above 2,000 RPM-Shift out of 2nd gear). The check engine light was also flashing. I called Geico to schedule a tow, called my wife to come get me, then immediately started looking for the warranty paper, and called the dealership. I spoke With Steven Pierce the Kia Sales Manager on the phone. I explained the situation, I may have sounded upset, but I never cursed, or was belligerent towards Mr. Pierce. I explained the situation, and that I was upset because I bought the car two days prior and spent almost 20 grand on it. His response, which still almost sends me in to a rage when I think about it, was "It doesn't matter if you spent 2,000 or 20,000, you're responsible for it, that's why we have you sign all that paper work" No empathy for the situation, no personal skills, no apologies, no reassurance that since I bought the warranty, it was more than likely going to be covered. Nothing. His first response to the situation was more or less, sorry, you signed the paper, the chunk of metal is yours. I'm sure he doesn't act that way when he is selling the cars, but of course once they leave the lot, who gives a crap. I was pretty angry at that point. I asked him to look at the situation like a fellow human, and asked how he would feel if I sold him something for $20,000, and it stopped working in two days. Of course he attempted every way possible to avoid answering that question. I hung up, I was furious. That evening, I had the car towed to the lot, and left the keys in the overnight box. The next morning, I called, and arranged a loaner car through the lot. By the time I got to the lot to pick it up, they were finished with my vehicle. It showed a knock sensor code, and they reset it, and did a software update, and it seems fine, but that wasn't the point of the review. Just be cautious with this lot. They will attempt to add things to the final cost of the vehicle, then as soon as you drive off the lot, you're old business to them. The salesman added items, and attempted to make me set my payments up around how he wanted, and the Kia Sales Manager Steven Pierce, treated me like I was thrown away trash, that didn't deserve the time of day. I will never forget the way I was treated by him, and I hope anyone who reads this won't forget so quickly either. Sales isn't, and never should never be a fly by night service. Sales is about building relationships and these guys aren't good at it. Also, a little extra. While I was waiting to get the paperwork where they worked on the vehicle, I spoke with the original salesman Dennis. As soon as I explained what had happened, He stated that it was awful and how sorry he was, and within 5 seconds of me explaining what happened, he said he had to help someone really quick and walked off. I assume he didn't want to deal with the aftermath of selling me a car in need of repair. I will also be listing this review on every other outlet I can find. It took a while to type out, but I hope you'll give it a read. It worth it. More
