A very disappointing first impression I was recently in the market for a certified pre-owned Honda Civic. On Friday, Feb 9, I found a listing on Cars.com for a vehicle at this dealership. I was recently in the market for a certified pre-owned Honda Civic. On Friday, Feb 9, I found a listing on Cars.com for a vehicle at this dealership. That same day at 5pm, we called Wesley Chapel Honda and spoke to "Michelle" to inquire if this specific vehicle - stock # T094093 - was still available. After placing us on hold to speak with a manager, she confirmed the car was still available so we made an appointment with Michelle to meet with a sales agent at 6pm that same evening. Darryl Warren called us on the way and confirmed the appointment. We drove 30 miles from downtown Tampa after work in rush hour traffic to the dealership to make the appointment time. When we arrived at the dealership to meet with Darryl, not only did he not have the vehicle ready for us to look at, but he stated he did not have ANY information about our interests nor the car that we specifically were there to see. We relayed the specific vehicle information again so that he can get the car for us, but after a few minutes he came back to tell us that the vehicle was already sold! Not to mention, we did not get the impression that the vehicle was just sold within the 30 minutes of our drive. He then asked nonchalantly if we were interested in any other vehicles. We then asked to speak to his manager, but instead of a dealership manager coming to speak with us, Darryl returned to tell us that he learned that sale of the vehicle did not go through BUT he did not know where the vehicle was located! We were shocked. At that point, we felt that they had wasted enough of our time and asked him to call us if he's able to find us another comparable Civic for a similar price. The following day on Saturday Feb 10, we received a call from a customer service manager but only to ask about our experience. After relaying what had transpired, she apologized and stated she would have a dealership manager call us. We never received that call. Instead, the next day on Sunday Feb 11, I went car shopping at another Honda dealership and purchased a Honda Civic from Brandon Honda. We were completely dismayed about the mishandling of this matter by their sales team and the overall treatment we received from Wesley Chapel Honda. There seemed to be no accountability taken for us driving all the way to the dealership AFTER confirming a vehicle was available AND making an appointment to view that vehicle. It seemed their only purpose was to get us to their dealership but even thereafter, the indifference about their “mistake” and efforts to get our business or “make it right” was futile. More
