I would strongly caution anyone against doing business with West Chicago Auto Mall. From the moment I scheduled a test drive through my later warranty service, the experience was filled with dishonesty, p with West Chicago Auto Mall. From the moment I scheduled a test drive through my later warranty service, the experience was filled with dishonesty, poor communication, and outright misrepresentation. When I first visited, I scheduled a test drive for 11:00 AM. On the way there, I received a text from the salesperson (John) asking to delay because the car wasn’t on-site. Even after insisting we were almost there, we waited nearly two hours before finally seeing the vehicle. During the test drive, I noticed a strange noise. Instead of checking, John repeatedly dismissed it as “just the temp plates rattling.” It turned out to be a coolant flap left open, which I found myself when I popped the hood. He then suggested we caused the issue. That should have been my first warning sign. Despite the poor experience, I was pressured with pitches about their service contract. I was told that they always provided rentals or loaners if my car needed repairs, which gave me peace of mind at the time. I was also promised a full tank of gas, filled washer fluid, and properly inflated tires to make up for the inconvenience. In reality, I left with less than half a tank, low washer fluid, and only the tires addressed. To make matters worse, I was only given one key with vague promises about being texted a contact for a second. I followed up for days and never heard back. It’s been over a year and I still never received it. Fast forward a year, my car broke down. Based on the dealership’s earlier promises, I had it towed nearly 50 miles to West Chicago, expecting a loaner if the car couldn’t be fixed the same day. When I arrived, I was treated rudely; a salesman literally stepped in front of me as if I didn’t belong. After waiting hours in a poorly lit area with no amenities, I was told my water pump failed. When I asked for the loaner I was promised, they told me they “don’t do that.” Instead, they suggested I Uber to a rental company or home; at my own cost. Had I done that, I later learned I would have been stuck with the bill if the warranty claim hadn’t been approved yet. The only reason I brought my car here was because of their assurance of a loaner; otherwise, I would have taken it to a closer repair shop. From there, communication completely broke down. I was told I’d receive a call the next day with updates, but no one reached out. When I called myself, they struggled to even find my car in the system. After multiple calls and delays, I finally got it back, but the experience was exhausting and unprofessional. When I asked whether the repair would be reported to Carfax, the staff shrugged and told me to “call Monday.” In short: this dealership is untrustworthy, misrepresents services, and treats customers poorly. My buying experience was frustrating and my service experience was even worse. Based on what I’ve seen and read in other reviews, my experience is not unique; it’s a pattern. I will never buy from or service my car at West Chicago Auto Mall again, and I will do everything I can to ensure others avoid the same mistake. More
John was amazing. Super helpful and nice. Real stand-up guy. He got in contact with me quickly and delivered on what he promised. He worked with my friend who was my Super helpful and nice. Real stand-up guy. He got in contact with me quickly and delivered on what he promised. He worked with my friend who was my proxy because I was from out of state until I could get to the lot and stayed in contact with me during the whole process. Seriously, ask for John! More
The sales person lost time and money due to the owners own ego. We talked to the owner after test driving because we liked the car. But he wouldn’t give us the car fax unless we bought the car and ran cre own ego. We talked to the owner after test driving because we liked the car. But he wouldn’t give us the car fax unless we bought the car and ran credit. Which by itself is a red flag. Then he talked about trumps tariffs and why his cars are priced so high, even tho those tariffs aren’t in effect yet. Then we asked if the price was negotiable and he wouldn’t give us an answer then when he did he said “I’m going to negotiate, I’m going to charge you $500 more” he completely lost the sale right there (keep in mind they have had the car for 2 years and they had to jump the car before we drove it). Ignorance and an ego got in the way of this sale. I loved the car and wanted this one. But I’m not giving my money to someone who acts like this. More
Drove 50 min after calling about the car for about a week. Came in and my dad was interested in another vehicle. Tried to see if we can get a deal because we wanted to buy 2 vehicles. We were told “peop week. Came in and my dad was interested in another vehicle. Tried to see if we can get a deal because we wanted to buy 2 vehicles. We were told “people usually say that and don’t buy” like we were scammers. Kept pressuring us to buy the car and the sales rep was extremely rude and raised his voice at us. I told him the car needed breaks, had an accident and had a mark on the door in which he replied “that’s your problem you buy the car as is or not I have other people” I told them to run the credit for the other vehicle since they want to play games. Only to see them sell the vehicle right infront of me. Very disrespectful and unprofessional dealership. So glad I didn’t buy anything from here. More
