Dear Mr. Burrows: We appreciate you taking the time to submit your comments to DealerRater, regarding your concerns about a frame inspection and possible rust perforation on your 2003 Toyota Tundra, and to inquire if your vehicle could be included under Toyota’s recall for this type of fatigue, in meeting Toyota’s warranty recall requirements. As you know, our lengthy and extensive review of the situation by both our staff at Younger Toyota – and by Toyota corporate service personnel – was not able to resolve your particular situation to your satisfaction. During the time period in which your vehicle was being inspected and evaluated, it was determined by our Central Atlantic Toyota field engineers that your vehicle did not fall under the specific conditions required to be included in the rust warranty repair program. We realize that you incurred a cost of $1,027 for the use of an Enterprise rental car during the time your vehicle was being inspected and evaluated by both our staff and Toyota corporate service personnel. After a follow-on review of your situation, it is our opinion that due to the unusual amount of time and personal expense you incurred by having your own vehicle out of service during this period, we would like to issue a goodwill check in the amount of $600 from Younger Toyota to help you recoup some of that rental car expense. After extensive review by both our certified technicians and the staff at Central Atlantic Toyota, we were unfortunately unable to include your vehicle in our truck rust warranty repair program. We apologize for the amount of time and inconvenience which you encountered. We value your business and that of any Toyota owner here at Younger Toyota. We thank you again for your feedback and comments.
