I was looking for a 2023 Tucson Hybrid for a few months, but seemed to have some trouble locating one, I had Luke call me from Zeigler and helped me out! BAIT and SWITCH! The process was going well until the final pricing explanation, when out of NOWHERE a $3,000 line item for Z-Guard (ceramic coating) was added as a The process was going well until the final pricing explanation, when out of NOWHERE a $3,000 line item for Z-Guard (ceramic coating) was added as a mandatory add-on. This would have been a 10% increase to my purchase price as a HIDDEN FEE that was not published or discussed in any of the multiple correspondences I'd had with the dealership. After some harsh words and standing up to leave, they agreed to remove it if I signed to buy the vehicle then and there. This shady approach puts both the salesperson and customer in a terrible position and is just plain UNETHICAL. We drove a considerable distance to see the vehicle after finding it online at the published price. To then try and tack on 10% for an option I did not want is the definition of BAIT and SWITCH. While we did end up purchasing the vehicle, I considered walking away on principal alone. Their approach to take advantage of customers is deplorable and left me with a very bad impression of the whole Zeigler Auto Group. I will never purchase there again and CAUTION future customers. The sales man was ok except he was suppose to send me a gas card which i never seen bought the car in june. The service man that we dealt with was nice and extra caring.
