Had some difficulty with shipping being delayed and un-trackable, but this was not the fault of the store in Dothan. My consultant Stephen was top notch when the car finally arrived. He handled the paperwork and hand off exactly as anticipated and was professional in every way. The branch manager made it right by crediting the shipping costs I had prepaid, but I would have preferred having the car on time, 10 days earlier. When I finally saw and drove it, it had a few more scratches and wear than indicated on the listing for being a year old and only 14,000 miles. Honestly if I was not in a time pinch at this point I think I would have reconsidered. I ended up paying $630 for paint correction to an outside shop. This being my first CARMAX (internet) purchase I would not hesitate to buy a car from Dothan/Stephen (specifically) again if it were on site, but having it shipped would cause me a pause before pulling the trigger on buying it. Dothan is my closest location but its still 95 miles from where I live. More
This was my first encounter with CarMax, and I must admit that it was enjoyable. I will never again enter a typical, antiquated dealership. Purchasing a car was the easiest and least stressful thing I have e that it was enjoyable. I will never again enter a typical, antiquated dealership. Purchasing a car was the easiest and least stressful thing I have ever done. To make things even simpler, everything is organized online. The car was listed, but it was put on hold until the original title arrived. It was worth the five weeks I spent watching. It took six days to move it from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Dothan. Our sales representative, Leslie, was excellent, informed, polite, and a major factor in the transaction's success. For an "old schooler" like me, it's a truly fantastic idea. More
